When it gets hot in the summer and I feel like I'm roasting, I like to reminisce and think of the past winter to feel cooler. This past winter was probably the worst one I've experienced yet after moving to Aomori from Tokyo.
夏が暑くなって、自分が苦しんでるとき、冬を思い出して、ちょっとクールな気分になろうとする。去年の冬は凄かった。東京から青森に引っ越して、一番辛い冬だった。

I don't know how many times I've made and remade that slope.
今年はあの坂を何回も何回も作って、作り直してた。
Clearning the side of the house was quite a chore as well.

It's days like this when we wonder when the snow will end!
こういう日にいつ雪降りが終わるのかといつも考えてる。

Oh, that black line near the middle of the picture is the top of the guardrail. I always make our slope no higher than this point.
写真の真ん中くらいに見える黒い線はガードレールの上。いつもそれを目安にして、坂の高さはそれより高く作らないことを決めてる。
Well, I'm sure summer will be over before we know it and we'll be back to snow shoveling again.
ま、夏はあっという間に終わって、すぐ雪かきの毎日が始まる感じだな。
