The next order of business after enjoying the aquarium was to go someplace for lunch. We decided to head to Cape Nyudo where we had lunch before four years ago.
水族館を堪能したあと、次はどっかの飲食店でランチを食べることをする。４年前に入道崎で食べたので、またそこに行くことにした。
There is the Cape Nyudo Lighthouse. The last time we climbed up the lighthouse as well. It is one of the few lighthouses in Japan that's open to the public.
入道崎灯台が見えた。以前に来たとき、灯台の上まで上った。はい、日本で数少ない灯台で一般公開をしてる。
The restaurant we went to the last time we were here was closed. So were many of the others. The one that was open and had air conditioning was really crowded and we were told it would be an a one-hour wait to get a table.
以前来た時、ランチで食べたレストランは閉店だった。ほかに何店舗も閉まってた。唯一エアコンがあるレストランは超混んでて、店員から待ち時間は１時間以上と言われ、ランチを断念した。
But I did have to take a picture of a few of the Namahage that were on display.
せっかく男鹿半島に来てるからやはりナマハゲの写真も撮らないとね。
It was getting late in the afternoon. If we had lunch first, we wouldn't be able to go to the [Blueberry Garden Cafe] for dessert as they close at 3:00pm. So we decided to eat dessert first, then look for a place to have lunch.
午後の遅い時間になり、ランチを先に食べたら、目的の「ブルベリーガーデンカフェ」はしめちゃう。閉店時間が１５時。それで、デザートを先に食べて、そのあとはどっかの飲食店でランチすることを決めた。

We actually ate inside as it was still quite a hot but I thought it would be nice to sit at one of these tables if the weather was a little cooler.
店内で召し上がったけど、天気がもっと涼しくになったら、こちの席も良さそうだったな。
This is where they grow most of their berries.
奥の方がブルベリー畑になってる。
We all ordered the sweets set and the dessert we chose was a blueberry cheese tart.
私たち３人はスイーツプレートを注文し、頼んだデザートはブルベリーチーズタルト。
My mother-in-law and I had coffee with our tart. My wife decided to have an iced coffee.
僕と義理の母はホットコーヒーも飲みました。妻はアイスコーヒーを。
I think we went to three different places before deciding to go to the Roadside Station [Showa]. It was getting even later in the afternoon, maybe around 3:00pm, that we weren't sure if the restaurant would be open or not.
３ヶ所くらいに行ってみたが、どこでも混雑して、最終敵に道の駅「昭和」まで行くことにした。時刻はもう１５時くらいになり、レストランはまだ営業してるかどうかも知らずに行ってみた。

道の駅「昭和」に到着。
良かったことにまだ営業してました。お客さんは私たちだけみたいな感じでした。
Since I'm not driving, I treated myself to a beer.
自分は運転してないのでビールを飲みました。
I had myself a four cheese pizza. You can't go wrong with beer and pizza.
僕が注文したのは４類のチーズのピッツァ。ビールとピッツァは最高のコンビだね。
My wife ordered the fried prawn set. Look at the size of those prawns! I forgot what my mother-in-law ordered.
妻はエビフライ定食を注文した。海老の大きさでびっくり！義理の母が頼んだものは覚えてない。
We chose to come to this roadside station because I thought my mother-in-law would enjoy it. There is a large flower shop and park here that I thought she would enjoy.
この道の駅に来た理由は義理の母の為でした。ネットで調べたところ大きな花畑もあり、お花がいっぱい売れてる場所でもあった。
It was right about this time that the battery for my smartphone went dead. So, I borrowed my wife's to take more pictures.
丁度このあたりでスマートフォンの電池が切れた。それで妻の携帯を借りて写真を撮り続けた。
I think I spotted all of the seven dwarfs.
多分「白雪姫」に登場する七人の小人を発見した。
I love cacti as well.

My wife said I should include more pictures with people in them so she took a bunch of photos featuring me and my mother-in-law.
妻が人が写ってない写真ばっかり撮ったらつまらないよ。それで僕と義理の母の写真をいろいろ撮ってくれた。

Before leaving the roadside station, we had some Babahera ice-cream. Baba meaning "old woman" and hera meaning "spatula". In Akita Prefecture it is mostly elderly women who sell the product.
道の駅を去る前に駐車場でババヘラアイスを販売してた。秋田県に来たので、食べることにした。なぜ”ババヘラ”というのも面白い。販売員を務める中年以上の女性（ババ）が、金属製の「ヘラ」を用いてコーンへ盛りつけることによる呼び名である。

花の形に仕上げるはもう１つの特徴。
As we were heading home, we made another stop at a different roadside station, at least I think it was a roadside station. Anyway, they were advertising a regional ice cream. I just had to try the fava bean and tobanjan chili paste ice cream. It was actually pretty good.
うちに帰る途中もう１つの道の駅の寄ってみた。この看板を見て、そら豆豆板醤ソフトが気になって買って食べてみた。以外と美味しかった！
The remainder of our trip was uneventful and we made it safely back home.
そのあとはなにもなく、無事家に戻って、本日の冒険が終了しました。
