Studio Ghibli Exhibition / スタジオジブリ展

Late last year, the Studio Ghibli exhibition came to Aomori. It was held at the Aomori Museum of Art from November 13, 2024 to February 9, 2025. We went on Friday, January 24. I had taken the day off from work that day.

去年の２０２４年の終わり頃、スタジオジブリ展が靑森市にやってきました。２０２４年１１月１３日から２０２５年２月９日まで開催してた。絶対行くと決めてたので、２０２５年１月２４日に行きました。金曜日だったので、仕事から有給を取って行きました。

Photos were allowed in only a few areas. Probably a good thing as I would be one of those people who would try to take pictures of every single exhibit. 

写真撮影は限られた場所のみで許された。じゃないと僕みたいな人は全部の展示品の写真を撮ろうとする。

The Cat Bus was the first photo spot. However, the curators were pretty strict. No taking pictures of your friends inside the display. But if you look closely, it seems I was photobombed by someone unknown to me. 

ねこバスは撮影オッケーの場所。でもルールが結構厳しかった。友達がねこバスの中に居る写真はNG。でも良く見たら、見知らぬ人が写ってる。

This is a scene from the movie [Earwig and the Witch] which is based on the Dianne Wynn Jones book of the same title. 

これは映画「アーヤと魔女」からのシーンです。映画は児童作家ダイアナ・ウィン・ジョーンズの同名小説でアニメ化された作品。

If you're a Studio Ghibli fan, you should recognize this house. 

スタジオジブリファンならこの家は分かるようね。

It's Satsuki and Mei's house from [My Neighbor Totoro]. 

答えはサツキとメイちゃんの家です。映画「となりのトトロ」より。

It's Yubaba's room from [Spirited Away]. 

「千と千尋の神隠し」から、湯婆婆の部屋。

One of the characters from [Princess Mononoke]. 

「もののけ姫」に登場したキャラクター。

Of course I had to have my picture taken while riding it. 

もちろん乗って写真を撮って貰った。

My wife was too embarrassed to pose for pictures like these. 

妻がこういう写真を撮られるのはとっても恥ずかしいからやらない。

If you bought some souvenirs from the pop-up shop, you would also get a Studio Ghibli Exhibition bag (or I may have bought it - I can't remember). 

スタジオジブリ展のグッズを買うと、こういう可愛いバグが貰うよ。（もしかして自分が買ったかも知りません、覚えてない！）。

Of course there was a lot more to see but like I said, pictures were allowed only in certain areas. 

もちろん自分が撮った写真ほど、いろんなものが展示されてた。ま、最初から言ったように、写真撮影は限られた場所のみでした。
