シアトルとシアトル周辺日帰りの旅が続いてます。朝からジミヘンの墓に行って、アメリカ椿大神宮、スノコルミー・フォールズとシアトルのフリーモント地区を探索した。まだ日が暮れてないので、近くのガスワークスパークというところに行った。
Here we are at Gas Works Park which was the site of the former Seattle Gas Light Company. The building you see is the remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the U.S.
目的のガスワークスパークに到着。この場所は旧シアトル・ガス・ライト・コンパニーの場所だった。公園内の建物はアメリカ最後の石炭ガス化工場です。もちろん現在は使用不可。

Now, here we are standing in front of an old abandoned house. What signficance does this house have.
さて、今は誰も住んでいない家の前に立ってます。この家はなんか特徴あるのか？
Does this house look familiar to you?
どっかで見たことある家と思いますか？
Well I didn't know until my friend told me. This house was used as a model for the house in the Disney/Pixar movie "Up".
自分も知らなかったが、この家は”カールじさんの空飛ぶ家”のモデルになったうちです。
It may be hard to see but it would appear Matt has a tattoo of the "Up" house on his right arm.
見えにくいかも知りませんが、マットのうでに”カールじーさんの空飛ぶ家”の刺青がある。
A place that makes homemade chili? Of course we had to check it out.
手作りチリの店。もちろん食べてみないっと。
And cold beer? You just know this restaurant is calling our name!!
冷えたビールも？この店は絶対私たちを呼んでるに間違いない！！
What can I say. You can't find good chili, or any chili for that matter, in Japan.
日本だったらめったにチリを提供してる店はありません。
The name of the place is [Mike's Tavern]. It also says it's a chili parlor.
店の名前は「マイクス・ターヴァン」。チリパーラーも書かれてます。

It had a nice atmosphere. As it was still early evening, we were the only customers there.
良い雰囲気です。時間的にまだ早いから、お客様は私たちだけ。

そろそろマットをうちに返してあげないっと。
We just had to make one more stop before heading back home. After eating chili, it was time to get some ice cream. My sister took us here the last time we came to visit, so this was our second visit to the "Fainting Goat".
チリも食べ終わって、マットを無事に家に返して、やっぱり自分のうちに行くまえに最後に寄るところがありました。以前アメリカに帰ったとき、妹が連れてくれたアイスの専門店。店名は「フェインティング・ゴート」。訳すの”気絶したヤギ”。
I can't remember what flavors we ordered but I do remember them all tasting good!
どの味を選んだか覚えてないけど、全てのアイスは超美味しかった！
After dessert it was time to head home. We need to get a little rest as we're going to go to Seattle again tomorrow. This time with my sister and her husband Tyrone. We're looking forward to tomorrow too!
デザートを完食て、うちに戻るだけ。ちょっと休まないとね。明日もまたシアトルに行く予定なんで。明日は妹の旦那、タイローンも同行する。楽しみだ！
