アメリカ紀行五日目。今日もシアトル観光を実行する予定。シアトル郊外も行く予定。最初の目的地は自分が昔から行きたかった場所で一度もお訪ねてない。シアトルが誇るギターヒーロー、ジミヘンの墓！あと、何ヶ月前、僕と妻は三戸にある神社に行ったとき、神主さんが私たちにシアトル郊外で日本式の神社があると教えてくれた。帰ったあと早速ネットで検索してみたら、確かにあった。アメリカ椿大神社。場所はグラニット・フォールズというところにある。

Of course our main purpose for visiting was to see my parents. This is my mother.
もちろん今回の旅の一番の目的は自分のご両親と会うことだ。僕の母です。

We just finished breakfast and are waiting for my sister to show up. I think it was either my mother or father who said there is a visitor in the yard.
朝食を食べ終わって、今は自分妹が来るのを持ってる。母か父が外に訪問客がいると言ってくれて、見に行きました。
I opened the front door to see this deer in the yard.
フロントドアを開けたら、なんと野生の鹿がいました。
The deer like to come out of woods near the house and eat the flowers and fruits in people's yards and gardens.
近くの森から人々のいえの花や野菜、果物をよく食べると自分の母が言ってた。

And here we are at our first stop - the Jimi Hendrix Memorial.
最初の目的地に到着。これがジミヘンのメモリアル。
Garden of Eternal Peace / 永遠の平和の庭園
The Jimi Hendrix Memorial is located at the Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Renton.
ジミ・ヘンドリックス・メモリアルはシアトル郊外、レントンのグリーンウッド・メモリアル・パーク＆フュネラル・ホームにあります。
A short break here before we continue on to Seattle.
シアトル入る前にここで一休み。
I haven't been in a Starbuck's in the States for a while so to me, it looked pretty fancy.
アメリカのスターバックスは長年入ってなかったため、この店の店内は超お洒落と思った。
Well, I don't drink coffee but I was happy that you could get a maccha frappuccino in the US.
自分はコーヒー飲まないんですが、アメリカでも抹茶フラペチーノが買えるのは嬉しい。
We're headed to Seattle now. Ballard in particular. We're going pay my friend who is a bit "under the weather" today a visit and see if he is "healthy" enough to come with us on our journey today.
これからシアトルを目指してます。シアトルの中にあるバラードというところ。昨日アイヴァーズで友達があす”体調不良”になるので、仕事を休むと言い、その友達の”お見舞い”に行って、元気を出すために、一緒に行動してもらう。

Here we are on the grounds of the Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America. First we checked this out. It is the Shofuku no Tama. According to the sign, "If you make your best effort each day with the heart of gratitude, happiness will come naturally into your life. For good relationship, happy family life and to open the path for good fortune, please rub this shofuku-no-tama (stone sphere) three times while praying HARAE TAMAE KIYOME TAMAE ROKKON SHOJO (please purify and invigorate me through all 5 senses)" And finally, on the bottom of the sign, it says "Please sincerely invite happiness into your heart and your wishes can be realized."
アメリカ椿大神宮に到着。本堂に行く前にこの”招福の玉”に願いをしました。サインによると”感謝の心を持って、日々努力を重ねると幸せが訪れます。開運招福を願って、この玉を３回なでながら、「祓い給え、清め給え、六根清浄」（はらいたまえ、きよめたまえ、ろっこんしょうじょう）と３度唱えて、幸せが訪れ念願ががなえられますように、お祈りしてください。”
I spotted a tengu (a type of long-nosed deity).

アメリカ椿大順遇由緒。
This is the emaden. It's the place to hang an ema (votive plaque) to communicate your wish to Okami or make the promise or expression of gratitude. You write your wish on the ema and place them here so the kami can read your wish.

Checking out the frogs again. The white slips of paper above them our various fortunes. If the fortune is good, people usually take them home. If the fortune is a bit unfortunate, people hang them here to "change their destiny".

友達が新たな友達に出会う。
Magatama. This word means musubi, the mysterious dynamic movement of life giving forces: expansion, contraction and evolution / birth, growth and combination.
The form of magatama is the fundamental structure of life...from the Great Nature comes the primal formation of the spiral form...our human forms echoes this process in the womb...Shinto intuits that all life and growth from Galaxies to sub atomic particles follow the spiral form.

I wanted to get a shrine seal from here to but unfortunately, the person who writes them was not available today.
本当はアメリカ椿大神宮の御朱印も欲しかったが、それを書く人は不在でした。
On to our next destination. As we were not too far from Snoqualmie Falls and my wife had never been there, we decided that would be our next stop.
さて、次の目的地へ。スノコールミフォールズ（ワシントン州の有名な滝）が近いと自分の妻が行ったことなかったので、そこに決定。

After checking out the falls, we decided to have a short break here before heading back into Seattle.
シアトルに戻る前にここでちょっと軽く飲んで食べた。
Matt and I are not driving so we decided to indulge ourselves with a craft beer.
僕とマットは運転してないので、二人は地ビールで乾杯。

どういう地ビールを飲んだのか？シアトルのパイク・ブルーイング・カンパニーの”パイク・ハイヴ・ファイヴ・セーリッシュ・ロッジ＆スパ・ホップト・ハニー・エール”。
I forgot what my wife ordered but this is what it looked like.
妻はどういったものを注文したか覚えてないが、これです。
We had to have something to eat with our drinks and what better snack food than nachos? These are the house pub nachos. It is made with smoked duck, white cheddar, smoked honey aioli, and corn salsa on potato chips.
飲み物と共に食べ物もいただけないっと。注文したのはパブ・ナチョス。この店のナチョスの材料は燻製したアヒル肉、ホワイトチェダーチーズ、燻製蜂蜜アイオリーソース、とトウモロコシサルサとポテトチップス。
And we also ordered the pretzel bread with beer cheese. Made with Salish honey mustard creme fraiche.
ほかにプレッツエルブレードのビールチーズ。チーズにセーリッシュハニーマスタードクリーム入り。
And if you were a fan of "Twin Peaks", then you must order the cherry pie!

While eating and drinking, we taught Matt a Japanese tongue twister and challenged him to say it.
食べて、飲みながら、マットに日本の早口言葉を教えて、マットが挑戦してみた。
Heading back to the car. The day isn't even half over and we still plan on checking out more places.
車に戻る時間になった。また日は半分にも経ってないので、まだまだ見る場所がいっぱいある。

Our one day Seattle and surroundings adventure will continue...
