自分の休日は日月ですが、この間の土曜日は日本の祝祭日、文化の日の為、自分は三連休でした。土曜日は家でのんびりしまたが、日曜日は妻と二人で出かけました。私たちが弘前市、弘前公園の紅葉祭りを見に行きました。
Also being held at the park was the annual Chrysanthemum Festival. However, there was a small entrance fee to that area of the park and as we had seen it last year, we decided to past on checking it out this year.
弘前公園で同時開催されてるのは毎年行われる菊祭り。菊祭りが有料の植物園のほうで今年は行きなかった。
But we did get to enjoy some chrysanthemum displays.
でも公園の所々で菊を楽しめた。
The flowers are all chrysanthemums.
花は全て菊です。

You can see Hirosaki Castle in the background. Its original location is on the corner of where the wall is currently being repaired.

Why the goldfish stayed around the hole in the pond is a mystery to me.

Near Hirosaki Park there is an area designated as a historical buildings preservation site.
弘前公園の近くに伝統的建造物群保存地区があります。明治・大正期の洋風建造物などの文化材が数多く残されています。
This is one of those buildings. This is the Ishiba Residence.
これがそういう建造物です。石場家住宅。
I love the western style buildings that are still in use.
洋風の建造物を見るのも結構楽しいです。
We were back in the park to check out Japan's thickest Somei Yoshino cherry tree.
弘前公園の中に戻って、日本一太いソメイヨシノを見に行った。
The tree trunk has a circumference of 537cm (211 inches).

It was time for lunch and I had already decided where we were going to eat. A cafe restaurant called [Dubois] located very near the park. The main menu items are gourmet burgers. But I will talk about that another time.
昼食の時間になり、どこ食べに行くのを前から決めていた。弘前公園の近くにあるカフェレストラン「デュボア」。メニューは主にグルメバーガーです。でもそれは別のネタで紹介します。
