The Garlic Kitchen [Daruma] / にんにく専門「だるま食堂」

Our first long drive this spring was to Sannohe Town. We were headed there to have lunch at the Garlic Kitchen [Daruma] which my wife read about quite a few months ago. This was the same day that my mother would be going home to the States from Tokyo on her own. Fortunately, I asked a friend of mine to see her off so I wouldn't have to worry as much and it also made my mother feel comfortable as well. 

今年初の長距離ドライブは三戸町まで。目的は三戸町にあるレストランでランチを食べること。その店がにんにく専門「だるま食堂」。妻が何ヶ月前に発見し、いつかその店を食べに行こうという話してたので、今日それを実行する日でした。この日、自分の母も日本からアメリカに帰る日でもあり、心配だったから、東京の友達に頼んで、

We got to the shop just as it opened so there weren't any other customers yet. 

丁度開店時間に着いて、まだ他の客はいませんでした。

The restaurant had a very homey atmosphere. 

アットホームの雰囲気で素敵。

There were various garlic-related items for sale. 

にんにく関連のグッズもいろいろ販売してます。

And now for the reason why we came here.

さて、この店に来た理由を。

We came here to eat this particular ramen. 

このラーメンを食べる為にこの店まで来ちゃいました。

This is their Gi-garlic ramen. it was so good...and so garlicky!!

これから店の看板メニュー、ギガーリックラーメン。

We also ordered this side dish - hime garlic tempura. 

このサイドディッシュも注文しました。姫にんにく天ぷら。

After we finished lunch, my wife noticed that we were only thirty-minutes away from Ninohe in Iwate Prefecture so we thought, why not, and headed to Iwate Prefecture but I will talk about that another time. 

ランチを食べ終わったところで妻が道の表示を見たら、岩手県二戸市が近いから、岩手県でも行くかという軽いのりで、岩手県に行きました。ですが、それはまた今度話します。
