The following morning, We all decided to take a walk together around Shimofuro.
翌日、朝からみんなで下風呂を散歩した。
First, we had to check where our bus stop was. It was across from this souvenir shop.
まず、佐井村行きのバス停を確認。県産おみやげ店の向かいにありました。
We checked to confirm the time when our bus would arrive and leave.
バスがいつ来るか、いつ佐井村に向かうのを確認したところです。
Looking out towards the ocean.
海のほうを眺める。
They look like tiny dots but there were a lot of fishing boats out in the water.
凄く小さく見えますが、朝から数多くの漁船が見える。
Our inn is to the right of the two tall buildings in the middle.
私たちの宿は真ん中にある二つの高いビルの右側にある。
I walked up a little hill.
自分がちょっとした丘を登った。
It seems this area is called Takinouezawa.
滝ノ上沢という場所らしいね。
Animal trap, most likely for wild boars.

There's a ship out in the distant.
遠くに船が写ってるよう。
I spotted a fishing boat close to shore.
海岸の近くになんかの漁をやってるボートを見た。
The person is most likely fishing for sea urchin or abalone.
漁師はたぶんウニかアワビを狙ってるじゃないかな。
While I was walking, I came across this nice waterfall.
散歩してる最中でこの滝をみつけった。

道に戻った。
There were two fishing boats out there.
漁船は２隻もあった。
The wakagaeri slope. Wakagaeri meaning "rejuvenation".

Jodoji Temple. Yeah, I know. It looks like an abandoned house but this really is a temple.
浄土寺。うん、空き屋に見えるのがわかるけど本当のお寺です。

This is the Wakamiya Inari Shrine located at the top of a hill.

We once again walked along the Oma Railway Arch Memorial Road heading for the Memorial Road Foot Bath.
また大間鉄道アーチ橋メモリアルロードに歩いて、メモリアルロード足湯を目指した。
I spotted a visitor near the foot bath.
足湯の近くの客も発見。
We're nearing the foot bath.

The foot bath at Shimofuro station, one of the stops along the vanished Oma Line.
幻の鉄道、大間線の下風呂駅。ホームが足湯になっております。
It looks like a real station. Too bad no trains will be stopping here.
本物の駅みたいけど、ここに止まる電車はありません。

It was time to head back to the inn for breakfast.

We're on the bus heading back to Sai Village.
バスに乗って、佐井村に戻る最中。
We got off the bus at Cape Oma before going all the way back to Sai Village.
佐井村に戻る時大間崎で途中下車。
That monument marks the northernmost point of Honshu island. We decided to walk around Cape Oma for a bit.
その建物に書いてるあるのは「本州最北端の地」。大間崎でちょっとぶらり。

Oma is known for pole and line tuna fishing. Oma tuna can be very expensive!
大間町はまぐろ一本釣りの町でも呼ばれてる。大間まぐろは結構の値段をする！

Back on the bus headed for Sai Village.
バスにまた乗って、佐井村に戻る。
We're back near the Tsugaru Kaikyo Bunkakan [Arusas]. We went to this sweets shop called [Saika] and ate dessert.
佐井村にある津軽海峡文化館「アルサス」の近くに戻り、お菓子工房「彩菓」に行ってデザートを食べた。
I can't remember who ate what but this is a purple sweet potato shortcake.
誰が何を食べたか覚えてないけど、これは紫芋のショートケーキ。
Goofing around while we we wait for our ferry.
青森市戻りの船が来るまで「アルサス」でちょっとふざけてます。
My wife has become a sea urchin!
妻がウニに変身！
Oh, it looks like the Sai Village mascot has been promoted to yokozuna.
おう、佐井村のマスコットが横綱になったそうです。
I thought this was a fossil at first. It's a large stone from Antarctica.
最初はなんかの化石と想ったが、南極の石でした。
We still had plent of time before our ferry would come so we went walking around the village again.
船が来るまでまだ時間たっぷりあったのでまた佐井村を探索してみた。
We decided to do a little shrine and temple pilgrimage. Our first stop was Hasshinji Temple.
お寺・神社巡りをやってみた。最初に行ったのは発信寺。
A pretty decent sanmon for such a small village.
小さな村で結構良い山門と想います。

Located across from Hasshinji Temple is Hoshoji Temple.
発信寺の向かえにあるのは法性寺。
We then walked to Joshinji Temple.
次にお参りしたのは常信寺。
Another temple that doesn't look like a temple.
またお寺に見えないようなお寺です。
And the last temple we visited was Denshoji Temple.
最後に訪れたお寺は 伝相寺。

建物の角にあるのは食べ処「うまいもん屋」。
More shops are located in the building.
建物に他の店もいろいろ入ってる。
On the corner is a souvenir shop featuring homemade crafts.
角にある店は手作りマート。

Village symbols. Sai Mura's flower is the Asian lily, the village bird an osprey, and the village tree is the hiba.
村のシンボル。村の花はスカジユリ、村の鳥はミサゴ、そして村の木はヒバ。
On the package, it says, "Yes, this is a Shimokita souvenir".
パッケージに書いてあるのは「はい、下北のおみやげです。」

Oh, I did get a temple seal from Chofukuji.
おう、長福寺の御朱印を貰ってたんだ。
And that concludes our weekend trip to Sai Village and Shimofuro.
それで佐井村と下風呂の旅が終了しました。
