Road trip to Senjojiki, Lake Juniko, and the Furofushi Hot Spring (Part 2) /

As we were nearing Lake Juniko and it was getting close to lunch, I said to my wife, "I don't see any shijimi ramen shops. That's when it hit her! She said, "oh no, Lake Juniko is not famous for shijimi ramen, that would be Lake Jusanko!" But before having lunch, we decided to go to Lake Juniko and check out the most famous of all the lakes in the area - the Aoike which translates to "Blue Pond".

Although the area is called Lake Juniko which translates to "Twelve Lakes", there are thirty-three lakes surrounding the area.

Keitoba Pond /

Aoike or "Blue Pond". I have been here before and I must say, it looks best during the summer. The blue doesn't seem to be as pronounced as it is in the summer.

Me, my wife and my mother-in-law /

Walking past the Keitoba (which translates to the Bird's Head Lake) on our way back to our car.

Time to go in search of lunch.
