I'm still wondering if the Governor of Aomori Prefecture or Mayor of Aomori City is going to cancel the Nebuta Festival again this year. Hirosaki decided to hold their Cherry Blossom Festival at Hirosaki Park and wouldn't you know, about two weeks later, there was a rise in COVID-19 cases. Coincidence? I think not. Japan still doesn't have a handle on the virus with many prefectures still in a State of Emergency. It only seems logical to cancel this year's Nebuta Festival as well. So, today's post is about the last day of the Nebuta Festival from four years ago - in 2017.
青森県知事と青森市市長は今年のねぶた祭を中止するのかね。弘前が桜祭を開催したら、その２週間後に新型コロナの感染者が増えた。偶然？そうとは言えないでしょう！新型コロナ対策に対して、日本の政府が曖昧過ぎて、どうなるんだろうね。いろんな都道府県が緊急事態宣言してるのに、ねぶた祭を開催する？中止するべきと思うけど、２年連続ねぶたが楽しめないのは残念と思う。ですから、今日のネタは４年前、２０１７年で行ったねぶた祭の最終日。

My wife and I are waiting for her mother to finish work. Employees working on the Memorial Ship [Hakkoda Maru] has a reserved area where we can watch the winning Nebuta floats sail around the bay followed by fireworks marking the end of the six-day festival.
僕と妻が妻のお母さんの仕事あがりを待ってた。義理の母はメモリアルシップ「八甲田丸」に働いてる。船の従業員のため、夜の花火の指定席が確保さてる。花火が上がる前に今年のトップ３ねぶたが青森ベイに回る。
