Back in 2018, my wife and I were still exploring Aomori City. It may be my wife's hometown but we had been living in Tokyo for the past eleven years so I'm sure many things have changed since she lived here.
２０１８年の夏。私たちが東京から靑森市に引っ越して、約２年を経つところでした。車を買って、靑森市をいろいろ探索続けた。靑森市は妻の実家ですが、１１年間ずーと東京暮らしだったので、靑森市は多分結構変ったと思う。
Today, we went driving around Nonai.
今日は野内周辺を探索した。
I explored a place called Kifune Shrine.
野内で最初に探索したのは貴船神社。
There really wasn't much to look at here.
あんまり見所はなかっとようでした。

Japanese Coast Guard ship / 海上保安庁の船
The Sii Line, [Polestar]. The Sii Line used to run between Aomori City and Sai Village in the Shimokita Peninsula. Unfortunately, service was suspened at the end of March in 2023. We did take a ride on it only once.
シイラインの「ポールスター」。シイラインは青森 - 佐井航路を引き継いで発足した。日本ではほぼ唯一となる、陸路では交通困難な僻地を、高速船により海路で結ぶ路線であり、離島航路としての扱いを受けていたが、２０２３年（令和5年）３月３１日に航路が廃止となった。１回だけ乗ったことがある。

At the time, my mother-in-law was working on the ship as a receptionist. During the summer, there was a small steam boat event going on so we decided to take a ride in it.
当時、自分の義理の母は「八甲田丸」で受け付けの仕事をしてました。この時期で蒸気船に乗れるイベントもあり、私たちもそれを体験した。
