As we headed into December, Aomori City got its first snowfall.
１２月に入って、青森市に初雪が降った。

木曜の夜、仕事から帰って、玄関先の木がこういう風になった。

My wife and I work on Saturdays. On Sunday, we spent most of the day in Hirosaki. Then, on Monday morning before heading out to lunch and going shopping, I did my first round of snow shoveling this season.
僕と妻の週末は日・月。土曜日は普通の出勤日。先日の日曜日はほぼ弘前市で過ごした。月曜日は五所川原にあるラーメン屋でランチを食べに行ったが、その前、自分が今年の冬の初雪かきをしました。
Opening the front door on Monday morning and I was greeted with this sight.
月曜日の朝玄関のドアを開けたら、こういう景色が目に入った。
Our car is buried in snow and you can't see the path from the front door to the driveway.
車に雪が積もってるし、玄関からドライブウェイの小道もありません。
So, the first order of business when snow shoveling is to clear a path from the front door to the driveway.
雪かきで最初にやることは玄関からドライブウェイの道を作る。そこの雪を最初にクリアしないといけない。
Once you finish this part of the job, the next is to make a clear path to where you're going to dump the snow. Fortunately, right across the street from our house and beyond those guard rails is an empty field. It is where we always dump our snow.
玄関からドライブウェイの雪をクリアしたら、次の作業に入る。それが雪捨てる場所の道を作る。良かったことに、うちの向かえに大きな畑があり、崖でもなってるので、ガードレールの先に捨てる。

Also completed making a path to where we will dump our snow and cleard the snow piled in front of our car.
雪捨て場と車の前の雪もクリアしました。
I didn't bother with the excess snow in front of our gutters (yet).
側溝の前に積もってる雪はそのまま。また別の時に片付ける。
This morning's job took about an hour and a half. After that, I took a shower and then we headed off to Goshogawara to eat some delicious ramen.
今日の午前中の作業は１時間半くらいで終了しました。そのあとはシャワーを浴びて、着替えて、五所川原で美味しいラーメンを食べに行った。
