We often go to the AEON Mall Shimoda in Oirase Town but we were unaware of a place called [Aguri no Sato] which we always pass by on our way to the mall. One day, we decided to stop and check it out.
私たちは良くおいらせ町にあるイオンモール下田に行きまっすが、最初「アグリの里」は全然気にはしなかった。ちょっとしたファーマーズマーケットって感じかなでいつもスルーしてた。ある日、行ってみることにした。
As we were headed to the place, we discovered a flower shop so of course we had to stop there and let my mother-in-law check it out. It was a place called [Hands Park] and seems to be run by a retirement home called Ginan no Ryo.
「アグリの里」に行く途中、義理の母が気になる花屋を発見。店の名前が「ハンズ・パーク」。法人のぎなん寮が経営してるみたい。もちろん寄ってみた。
Once we got to Aguri no Sato, the first thing we saw was a food truck selling salted chicken wings. We bought some on our way back home.
「アグリの里」に付いたら最初に目にしたのはあるキッチンカー。しおてばを売れてった。帰る前にお土産でちょっと買ってた。
Little did we know that this would become one of our favorite snack foods at the time.
その後、このしおてばは僕と妻が大好きな食べ物になるとはまだ知らなかった。
We decided to have lunch at the small ramen shop located near the front of the place. This particular ramen shop is only open from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
入り口の所に小さなラーメン屋があり、そこでランチを食べることにした。このラーメン屋の営業時間は朝１０時から午後１４時まで。
The place is run more like a food booth than a regular ramen shop.
店は屋台な様になってる。
All three of us (me, my wife, and my mother-in-law) had the ramen. It was only 500 yen.
私たち３人（僕と妻と義理の母）がラーメンを注文しました。
At [Aguri no Sato], there is a small farmer's market as I mentioned. A ramen shop, a soba shop, a sweets shop, and a bakery.
「アグリの里」は小さなファーマーズマーケットだけではなく、ラーメン屋、そば屋、スイーツショップとベーカリーもある。
I was still hungry so I bought a ham & cream cheese sandwich from the bakery.
まだ満腹にはなってなかったので、ベーカリーでクリームチーズ＆ペッパーサンドを食べた。
You can also get freshly made gelato at the bakery. This fresh strawberry gelato is to kill for.
ベーカリーでジェラートも販売して、この生苺ジェラートが絶品。
There are a lot of wood carved art pieces throughout the place and I thought they were pretty cool.
木の彫刻がいっぱい展示されて、結構カッコイイなと想った。
We then check out the pastry shop called [Fujisawa] located in the Atumaru Multipurpose Exchange Facility.
次探索したのはAtu〇（あつまーる）多目的交流施設にパティスリー「ふじさわ」。
Then it was back to checking out the art pieces made of wood.
また木の彫刻を見る。
Scary cat.
この猫ちょっと怖いわ。
Oh, I really like this piece.
これ結構気に入り。
Near the back of the place there are buildings were they grow tropical fruits like bananas, papayas, passionfruits, starfruits, and dragonfruits.
施設の奥に熱帯の果物を育ってる。バナナやパパや、パッションフルーツ、スターフルーツとドラゴンフルーツなど。
Very warm inside these buildings.
温かいところです。
So this is a dragonfruit tree.
これがドラゴンフルーツの木か。
Did you know dragonfruits are also known as pitaya? I didn't.
ドラゴンフルーツの別名はぴたやで知ってた？自分は知らなかった。
Banana tree / バナナの木
Bananas / バナナ
Papaya trees / パパヤの木
Which means those are papayas.
てことはこの木の実はパパヤである。
It seems that it wasn't the season for passionfruit.
今はパッションフルーツの時期じゃないみたい。
The same for the starfruits.
スターフルーツの時期でもないみたい。
Jabuticaba? I've never heard of it. Native to southern Brazil. Apparently very similar to grapes.
ジャボチカバ？聞いたことないな。原産地は南ブラジル。ブドウに似てると書いてある。
Not the season for dragonfruits either.
ドラゴンフルーツの時期でもない。
Kids would love this place as they can see and pet some small animals as well.
こどもならここも楽しめる。書道物のふれあいコーナーもある。
Then it was back to the bakery.
またベーカリーを探索した。
And finally, we bought some salted chicken to take home with us.
最後にお持ち帰りでしおてばを買った。
