Don's Aomori Visit (Day 6 Part 3) / ドン 青森紀行 （六日目 パート３）

Before we knew it, we had spent four hours at the Sannai-Maruyama Archaeological Site! It was lunch time and we were hungry. As Don is in Aomori, I told him he had to try one of Aomori's B-gourmet foods - the miso curry milk ramen from a shop called Aji no Sapporo. We caught a small shuttle bus called the Nebutan-go to take us to Aomori Station. It only costs 100 yen.

三内丸山を探索終わったらあっという間に４時間も過ぎた。ランチの時間になり、ドンにどうしても食べさせたい、青森B級グルメのものがある。それは味噌カレー牛乳ラーメンだ。もちろん発祥の店、「味の札幌」に行く。三内丸山から青森駅までシャトルバスのねぶたん号に乗って、いざ青森駅へ。シャトルバスも便利で安い。たったの１００円です。

We first decided to go to the more popular Aji no Sapporo shop called Onishi. This shop is frequently featured on television and in magazines. This being Nebuta week, when we got there, we saw a long line and found that the waiting time would be an hour and a half before we could even get into the shop. I suggested to Don that we should check out the other Aji no Sapporo shop. I even told him, my wife prefers the other place. It is called Aji no Sapporo Asari. 

先目指したのは味の札幌の大西。この店はよくテレビや雑誌に取り上げられてるから凄い人気がある。行ってみたら、店の前に超行列が出来てた。聞いてみたところ、待ち時間は一時間半。ドンに別の味の札幌に行ってみようと提案した。ドンに、僕の妻は個人的に味の札幌の浅利のほうが好きだし、多分大西より混んでない。

Aji no Sapporo Onishi / 味の札幌 大西

It was only a five to ten minute walk to the other Aji no Sapporo ramen shop. It is smaller than Onishi and only has seating space for about a maximum of ten to twelve people. Even though we had to wait in line there as well, the waiting time was only fifteen minutes.

大西から浅利の味の札幌は徒歩で５分か１０分の距離。店は大西より小さいでカウンタースペースしかない。ちょっと並んで待ちましたが、待ち時間は１５分だけだった。

The shop is run by a couple and seemed a little nervous about two foreigners coming to their shop. They thought we might be passengers on one of the cruise ship that was in port now. However, the owner was surprised and relieved when I made our order in Japanese and told him my friend used to work here part-time and that I had been in this shop before. 

店は夫婦でやってる。私たちが席に座ったら、不安そうだったが、僕普通の日本語で注文したら、オーナーがびっくりして、表情も変わり、安心した顔をした。マスターに、僕の友達がここで昔をバイトして、以前僕も来たことがあると伝えたら、いろいろ話しました。マスターが私たちを見て、もしかして、今青森湖に来てる豪華客船の乗客と思ったみたい。

After lunch, we decided to walk around the fish market in the basement floor of the AUGA building.

ランチを食べ終わったら、AUGAの市場に歩き回った。

After exploring the fish market, I suggested going to Shin Aomori station to check out the shops there, but first we caught a shuttle bus to the Gala Mall because Don wanted to check out Toys R Us. And because we were at the mall, I told Don he had to try a Dake Kimi Donut. Dake Kimi is a brand name corn that is very popular in Hokkaido and the Tohoku region. It is very sweet and delicious.

市場を探索したあと、マエダのシャトルバスに乗って、ガラモールに行きました。ドンがアメリカの友達にトイザラスで買い物したかったのです。ガラモールに居るので、ドンに獄きみのドーナッツも食べるべきと言った。獄きみは北海道や東北の有名ブランドのとうもろこし。

Next, we walked from the mall to Shin Aomori Station to check out the souvenir shops there.

ガラモールから新青森駅まで歩いた。目的は新青森駅にあるお土産屋。

歩いてる途中にまたトンボと出会えました。

As Don had already tried the Dake kimi donut at the mall, I said he had to try the Dake kimi tempura here. Another delicious snack.

ガラモールでドンは獄きみドーナッツはもう食べたので、新青森駅に獄きみ天ぷらを食べるべきと言った。これも凄い美味しいんです。

Another thing you can do at the souvenir shop in Aomori station is to try at least four different types of nihon-shu. You can ask for a small cup at the counter and pay 100 yen at the nihon-shu vending machine for a taste.

青森駅でもう一つ楽しめることがある。カウンタースタッフにカップを貰い、１００円で青森県の日本酒を試飲が出来る。なんと日本酒の販売機が店の中に設置されてます。

One of the most popular brands is Denshu which is the bottle on the far right. Don also tried the Tsugaru Joppari Nihon-shu on the far left which is made in Hirosaki.

青森で一番有名な日本酒は多分一番右側にある田酒。ドンは田酒と一番左側にある、弘前の津軽じょっぱり。

Tomorrow, we will be making another long drive as my wife has the day off. We plan on going through Hakkoda Mountain to the Oirase Gorge and Lake Towada. So tonight, we will turn in early and start fresh in the morning.

明日、妻も休みなので、また長距離のドライヴに出かけます。目指すのは奥入瀬渓流と十和田湖。明日の出発時は早いので、今夜は家でのんびりして、早めに寝ます。
