Ocean's Diner Spring Menu 2018 / オーシャンズ・ダイナー 春のメニュー ２０１８

My wife and I have Sundays and Mondays off so one Sunday in April of 2018, we decided to have lunch at [Ocean's Diner] which is located on the first floor of A-Factory, a building where you can buy Aomori regional products. The burger shop had a couple of new burgers for their spring menu.

僕と妻の公休日は日曜日と月曜日。２０１８年の４月に靑森市にある青森物産が販売してる施設のA-Factoryの１階にあるバーガー屋「オーシャンズ・ダイナー」でランチを食べに行った。春の新メニューがあり、その期間限定のバーガーを食べに行った。

On offer was a Gorgonzola Burger and a Carbonara Burger.

春で提供したバーガーはゴルゴンゾーラバーガーとカルボナーラバーガー。

The burgers are served with fries.

バーガーにポテトフライ付。

My wife had the Carbonara Burger as she doesn't like the smell of Gorgonzola cheese. 

妻がカルボナーラバーガーを注文しました。彼女はゴルゴンゾーの香りが苦手ってもんで。

I love Gorgonzola cheese so of course I chose the Gorgonzola Burger.

僕はゴルゴンゾーラチーズが大好きなので、もちろんゴルゴンゾーラバーガーを注文しました。

It was delicious.

美味しかったよ。

Burger Shop [Ocean's Diner] and more Snow Shoveling / バーガーショップ「オーシャンズ・ダイナー」と雪かき

Tokyo is full of gourmet burger shops. I often spent more than 1000yen on a burger at these places as they were so good. Imagine my shock when I moved to Aomori City and it seemes like the only burger offerings were from McDonald's or Mos Burger, not that I don't like either of those, but those are fast food. Sometimes you just want to eat a gourmet burger. But then I discovered there was a burger shop inside A-Factory, a place where you can buy regional Aomori products. It's located on the first floor of A-Factory close to where I work and is called [Ocean's Diner]. 

東京ならグルメバーガーショップはいっぱいある。いろんなグルメバーガーショップに行き、１０００円以上のバーガーを何回も食べたことがある。靑森市に引っ越したらショックを受けた。グルメバーガーショップが１軒もないみたい。バーガー食べたいならマックかモスバーガーになる。別にその２件も嫌いという訳でもないし、ですが、グルメバーガーショップとは言わない。でもある日、職場の近くにある観光客に靑森県産のアイテムで帰る施設A-Factoryの中に１件のグルメバーガー屋があった。それが「オーシャンズ・ダイナー」。

I believe I ordered the Salsa Burger while my wife ordered the Ocean's Burger. 

この時自分が多分サルサバーガーを注文し、妻はオーシャンズバーガーを注文した。

We also had gelato for dessert and I had the sake and sweet potato flavors. 

デザートでジェラートを食べて、僕が酒とさつまいもを食べた。

I don't recall what flavors my wife ordered.

妻が選んだ味覚えてない。

As it was still January, we were still in the middle of winter and snow shoveling season. 

まだ１月（２０１８年）、冬のど真ん中で雪かきの季節でもあった。

また坂を直せなきゃいけない。

Snow on the roof. Just have to wait for it to fall off.

We finished snow shoveling the side of the house before it got too dark. 

暗くなる前に家と家の間の雪を片付けた。

And so ends another day. 

それで今日の雪かきも終了しました。

Cafe [Dubois] / カフェ「デュボワ」

When I moved to Aomori City from Tokyo back in November of 2016, I didn't realize that there would be a lack of gourmet burger shops in my new surroundings. Fortunately, I discovered one when we went to Hirosaki Park to check out the Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival. The restaurant is called [Dubois] and was located within walking distance from Hirosaki Park. 

２０１６年１１月東京から靑森市に引っ越して気づいたことがあった。靑森市にはグルメバーガーショップが少ない。でも運良く弘前公園で開催した菊と紅葉まつりのときに歩き回ったところ、美味しそうなバーガーショップを発見。それが「デュボワ」でした。

This looked like my kind of place so we had lunch here. 

自分が好きそうな店だったので、ランチはここで決定。

The burger shop has a nice cozy interior. 

店内はこじんまりで心地よい。

I see the shop has an Instagram account as well. 

店がインスタグラムもやってる。

I ordered the Avocado Cheeseburger while my wife ordered the regular cheeseburger.

僕はアボカドチーズバーガーを注文し,　妻はチーズバーガーを選んだ。

My wife's cheeseburger included the shop's original sauce. 

妻のチーズバーガーに店の特製ソースが入ってました。

The Avocado Cheeseburger was filled more with an avocado dip than slices of avocado but still it was delicious. 

アボカドチーズバーガーはアボカドのスライスではなくアボカドディップみたいな感じでした。それでもとっても美味しかった。

Unfortunately, on a recent trip to Hirosaki, I wanted to have burgers at Cafe Dubois again only to find the shop had changed names and was no longer a burger shop. Thank goodness they have a sister shop called [8Huit Dubois] in Hirakawa which is still a gourmet burger place. 

残念ながら、ちょっと前に久ぶりにカフェ「デュボワ」のバーガーが食べたくて、店に行ったら、名前も変わって、バーガーショップではありません。ショックでした。ですが、平川市に姉妹店の「ユイットデュボワ」がまだ営業してる。

Cafe Dining [GOEMON] / カフェダイニング「ゴエモン」

In between checking out all the Japanese classic cars, we were getting hungry and it was time for lunch. Once again, one of my students suggested a restaurant on Nakamachi Komise Dori. The student say they make great burgers. After moving to Aomori, I really did miss all the gourmet burger shops you can find it Tokyo so of course I was excited about checking this place out. 

クラシックカーショーをいろいろ見て、昼の時間になった。また自分の生徒のおすすめした店に行ってみた。名前は「ゴエモン」。この店も中町小店通りにあり、メニューに美味しいバーガーがあるからもちろんランチはそこの店に決定。やっぱり青森に引っ越したあた、東京を恋しくなるのはグルメバーガーショップの豊富さ。だからゴエモンに行くのもすごい楽しみだった。

Of course I ordered their burger. It's made with Kuraishi beef and you can see the set comes with salad and fries. 

当たり前に俺はバーガーを注文しました。ゴエモンのバーガーは倉石牛使用です。メニューにも倉石ハンバーガーと書いたある。

It was delicious but doesn't compare to the gourmet burgers you can get in Tokyo. 

美味しかったは美味しかったけど、東京のグルメバーガーにはかかなわない。

My wife isn't that big of a burger fan so she chose the lunch plate instead. 

妻は大のバーガーファンでもないので、ランチプレートを注文。

8 Huit Dubois / ユイット デユボワ

Yesterday, my wife and I went out for lunch at a recently opened gourmet burger shop in Hirakawa City. The name of the shop is [8 Huit Dubois]. It is the sister shop of Cafe Dubois in Hirosaki. It opened in February and the business hours are 11am to 3pm Saturday through Thursday. Friday the shop is closed. You must make a reservation if you plan to eat their in the evening.

昨日、僕と妻は平川市に最近開店したグルメバーガーショップに行きました。店名は「ユイット・デュボワ」。これは弘前市にあるカフェ・デュボワの姉妹店。営業時間は朝１１時から３時まで。夜は予約制のみ。定休日は毎週の金曜日。

What makes this shop a little different from the shop in Hirosaki is that there are four burgers that are only available here and not at their sister store.  The four burgers are the Premium Cheeseburger, the flame-broiled Steak Burger, the Ginger Teriyaki Chicken Burger and Healthy Tuna Avocado Sandwich. 

この店のメニューに姉妹店にないバーガーが４種類もあります。濃厚プリミアムチーズバーガー、炭火焼ステーキバーガー、ジンジャテリヤキチキンバーガーとヘルシーツナアボカドサンド。

The March special burger was a Pulled Pork Burger. As today was March 31st, this was the last day where you could enjoy it.

３月限定バーガーはプルドポークバーガー。本日は３月３１日だったので、今日で最後だった。

I of course ordered the Pulled Pork Burger which is made with domestic pork, Aomori beef, lettuce, cheddar cheese, coleslaw salad, mayonnaise and barbecue sauce.  My wife ordered the flame-broiled steak burger.

もちろん限定に弱い僕はプルドポークバーガーを注文。このバーガーの材料は国産豚、青森県産ビーフ、レタス、チェダーチーズ、コールスローサラダ、マヨネーズとBBQソース。妻は炭火焼ステーキバーガーを注文。

Fries are not included with the burgers so we shared an order of fries. 

バーガーにポテトは付きませんので、二人でポテトをシェアしました。

My wife also ordered a hot cup of coffee which is served with dogu shaped cookie.

妻はホットコーヒーも頼んで、こういうお洒落なカップで提供してる。土偶形のクッキー付。

I decided to have an afternoon beer. 

僕は昼からビールを飲みました。

The pulled pork burger. Oh my. That was worth the trip to Hirakawa which is only a forty-five minute drive from our house.

プルドポークバーガーは最高に美味しかった。平川市まで行く価値あり。うちから車で４５分くらいの距離です。

My wife's flame-broiled steak burger is made with 100% red meat, onions, tomato, lettuce, Parmesan cheese sauce, pickles, mayonnaise and ketchup. She let me have a bite and I must say the steak was so soft and tender! I think I'm going to order this the next time we go.

妻の炭火焼ステーキバーガーは牛赤身肉、玉ねぎ、トマト、レタス、パルメザンチーズソース、ピクルス、マヨニーズとケチャップ。一口食べたので、肉がとっても柔らかくて美味しい！次回行ったとき自分もステーキバーガー注文するかも。

After lunch, I said I would treat my wife to dessert so we went to a place called Tasakoimura which is only three minutes away from the burger shop. My wife had a strawberry parfait while I tried their roasted sweet potato parfait.

ランチ食べ終えたら、妻にデザートをご馳走するから、最近私たちの気に入りの場所、田さ恋村に行きました。バーガーショップから車で約３分。妻がまたストロベリーパフェをたべて、僕は焼き芋パフェを食べた。

This place is also known for its shiawase no ichigo ame, a snack made with fresh strawberries so we had to eat one of those too.

田さ恋村の名物は”しあわせのいちご飴”。もちろんそれも食べました。

My wife wanted a little something else and said this was also dessert. Grilled chicken skins.

妻の食欲はまだ続いてたので、これもデザートを言ってました。買ったのはかわのやきとり。
