Our first pre-summer drive was to Akita Prefecture. Our first stop would be the Akita Dog Visitor Center in Odate.
夏が始まるドライブで最初に行ったのは秋田県大館市。目指すのは秋田犬の里。
As the Ikarigaseki Roadside Station was on the way, we made a quick stop here. This is the Tsugaru Seki no Sho。
碇ヶ関道の駅がドライブの途中にあったから、そこに寄りました。ここにあったのは津軽関の庄。

This looked like an interesting thing to check out. Unfortunately, we didn't make it. Maybe next year.
砂で作る世界の芸術が面白いと想ったが、７月２９日・３０日はこれらないと想う。来年があれば、行ってみたいな。

There was a meat festival being held in the rear parking lot. However, it was so crowded that we didn't check it out.

Hey, I thought this train car looked familiar. It used to be displayed at Shibuya station! It was moved here three years ago!!
なんか見たことある車両と想ったら、昔渋谷駅に転じされてた車両だ。え～？３年前に渋谷駅からここに移動された。
My wife was thinking of taking me to the Tohoku Craft Beer Festival which was being held in Akita City but when we checked to see how long the drive would be, it would take us another two hours. I already had an alternative plan in mind. That, and my wife wouldn't be able to enjoy any of the beers because she's driving and my mother-in-law doesn't like beer. So, we headed off to the Historic Site Osarizawa Mine. But that will be for the next post.
秋田犬の里を探索したあと、妻が考えたのは秋田市まで行くこと。丁度この週末に東北クラフトビールフェスが開催してた。でも大館市から秋田市は更に２時間もかかるから断念。そりにしても僕しか楽しめない。だって、妻は運転してるし、義理の母はビール飲まない。でも僕はもう一ヶ所行きたい場所があって、大館から約３０分のドライブ。次目指したのは史跡尾去沢鉱山。でもそれはまた今度紹介する。
