Snow Shoveling Season 2022-2023 Winter / 雪かきの季節 ２０２２年ー２０２３年冬

Last night, the bulldozers came and cleared away the snow from the main part of the road which means the following day I would have to fix the little slope we use to dump our snow. So I thought I would share a few more snow shoveling days with you from the end of last year. The last post I did about snow shoveling was from December 18. We then went to lunch after our morning workout (snow shoveling that is). Well, there was more snow shoveling to do the following day as well. 

昨日、またブルドーザーが来て道路に積もった雪を片付けた。ということはうちが雪捨て場まで使ってる坂をまたやり直すしかない。今日も雪かきは約１・２時間くらいやってたので、享年の雪かき光景でもシェアしようかなと想った。最後の雪かきネタは２０２２年１２月１８日だった。朝でやって、昼は浪岡にあるカフェでランチを食べた。翌日も雪かきに覆われた日でした。

I woke up and opened the curtains in my den and this is the scene I was greeted with. 

起きて、書斎のカーテンを開いた、こういう景色が目に入った。

My wife and I then went to the Mini Mart in Aburakawa and on our way back, I took a picture of the shinkansen tracks. 

僕と妻は油川にあるミニマートに行って、帰りの途中、新幹線が走る線路のところの写真を撮った。

Back at home, I first checked the side of the house. There was no need to clear this area. 

雪かき始まるまえ家の周りをチェックしました。横はやらなくて良いと判断。

First order of business. Make the slope safe. We dump the snow between those two sticks you see on the right. 

最初にやることは坂を安全と安心に使える様にする。あの２本のポールが坂の幅を表してる。

Well, you can see the snow is about level with the bottom of the guard rail. 

見れば分かる。積もった雪がガードレールの下とほぼ一緒。

This is actually our neighbor's house. 

これは隣人の家だ。

The tree my wife calls "Big Orange" during autumn. 

妻が「ビッグ・オレンジ」で命名した木。秋は本当にオレンジ色になってます。

The following morning - December 20 at around 7:15 or so. 

翌日の朝、１２月２０日、７時１５分くらい。

Then about an hour later after doing a bit of snow shoveling.

そして約１時間後。雪かきも終わった頃。

Well, we're already one week into 2023 and I've already done a few hours of snow shoveling here and there. Winter is far from over. Forecast calls for more snow tomorrow so you can bet that I will be snow shoveling again. 

２０２３年に入る、もう一週間が経ちました。今週も何回も雪かきしまたよ。冬はまだまだ終わらない。天気予報によると明日は雪です。明日僕はまた雪かきするのは間違いない。
