About three weeks ago, my wife and I decided to go on a drive up the Shimokita Peninsula to Mutsu City. We made reservations at a restaurant called [Mokuba] for 11:30am. It takes about about two and half to three hours by car from Aomori to Mutsu so we left about 7:30 in the morning. We planned on making a couple of side trips on the way and thought that would give us more than enough time to reach the restaurant before our reserved time. Our first stop was at a tofu shop in Yokohama Town called [Yusui-tei]. One of their specialty products is the "u no hana" doughnuts. These are doughnuts made from soy pulp. Yes, they are tofu doughnuts and when they're fresh out of the vat, they are so delicious!
参週間ほど前に妻と一緒に下北半島にあるむつ市までドライブに出掛けた。農園レストラン「木馬」で１１時半に予約して、そこでランチを食べる予定。青森市からむつ市は車で大体２時間から３時間くらいかかる。とういうわけで私たちが７時半に家を出た。もちろん私たちはちょっと寄り道もする予定で、余裕があるように出発した。最初の目的地は横浜町にある豆腐店の「湧水亭」。ここの名物は卯の花ドーナッツ。おからから出来たドーナッツで、揚げたが一番美味しい。自分はいつも２個を買う。

We then stopped off at the Yokohama Town Roadside Station [Nanohana Plaza]. My wife and I always stop here to pick up some deep fried scallops.
次に行ったのは横浜町道の駅「菜の花プラザ」。ここの狙いは揚げ帆立。

We discovered a new product. Raw honey snack made in Yokohama Town.
新しい商品を発見。菜の花ひとくち生はちみつ。買ってみた。
It looks like some kind of candy but it really is just pure honey. Very sweet!!
なんかのお菓子に見えるが、食べたら、生はちみつそのものでした。甘い！！
We got to Mutsu City about an hour before our reservation so we thought we would make another little side trip. We went to a place called Hayakakenuma Park.
むつ市に結構早い時間に到着し、予約の時間まで約１時間もあった。それで近くにあった蚊は早崖沼公園に行きました。

５０周年記念植樹。むつ市の姉妹都市会津若松にある鶴ヶ城の桜から枝分けした２本の桜がこっちに植えた。
We spotted the outdoor stage. I imagine the park holds concerts there during the summer.
野外ステージがありました。多分夏でいろんなライブがそこで行ってるのと想う。
It was now time for us to head to the restaurant for lunch.
