Indian Restaurant [Utsav] / インドレストラン「ウサブ」

My wife and I tried another Indian restaurant again. This time, we went to Hachinohe and had lunch at a place called [Utsav]. I looked up on the Internet to see what the name means. It means "celebration" in Hindi. 

先日僕と妻は八戸のインド料理店「ウサブ」に行きました。名前はどういう意味だろうと想って、ネットで調べたら、ヒンディー語で”お祝い”ということでした。

Aside from curry rice, there are sets you could choose from for lunch. My wife and I both chose the G set which includes chicken tikka and sheek kebab, naan and a mini bowl of rice, salad and chapati, a drink, and a choice of curries. The curries you could choose from are the daily special, (today was saag chicken), chicken, prawn, or keema egg. The choices of drinks for the set menus are lassi, coffee (hot or iced), orange juice, oolong tea, chai (hot or iced), mango lassi, cola, and ginger ale. You can also choose the spicyness of your curry from five levels, 0 being normal. I chose 3. My wife chose 2. 

ランチメニューにカレーライスのみ以外に８種類のセットから選べる。僕と妻はGセットを絵注文しました。セットに付いてるのはチキンティーカ＆シークカバブ、ナン＆小ライス、サラダ＆インドチップス、ドリンクと好きなカレー２品。選べるカレーは日替わりカレー、チキンカレー、エビカレーとキーマエッグカレー。本日の日替わりはサグチキンカレー（ほうれん草チキンカレー）。僕が選んだのは日替わりとチキンカレー。妻が日替わりとエビカレー。飲み物はラッシー、コーヒー（ホットorアイス）、オレンジジュース、ウーロン茶、チャイ（ホットorアイス）、マンゴラッシー、コーラとジンジャーエール。私たちがマンゴラッシーを選びました。カレーのスパイスの量も選べる。普通からやや辛口、辛口、激辛と超激辛の5段階。

Suzuki Barber (Gundam Cut) & Misawa Veedol Beach / スズキ理容（ガンダムカット）＆ 三沢ビードルビーチ

After eating lunch at [Bihani] in Misawa, we then headed to a small barber shop in Oirase Town. I wasn't in need of a haircut but this particular barber shop is a popular spot for fans of the anime series Gundam. You will know why once we get there. I'm not really a huge fan of the series so I don't know the names of the different Mobile Suits. 

札幌カレー＆ネパールカレー「ビハニ」三沢店でランチを食べ終わってから、自分が行きたいところがあって、妻が僕のわがままを聞いて、おいらせ町に行きました。目指すのはスズキ理容。別に髪切りたいというわけではないが、この店に凄い特徴がある。ガンダムファンなら見に行きたい場所と想う。その理容は通称「ガンダムカット」でも呼ばれてる。なぜそうなったのは行ってみてすぐ分かる。自分はガンダムの熱狂的ファンでもないので、モバイルスーツの名前や種類は分かりません。

Iron Man looks a bit small compared to the Gundam. 

アイアンマとガンダムを比較すると結構小さいですね。

Mario was hanging out with the Gundam as well.

おう、ガンダムパイロットが居た。

We weren't too far from Hachinohe and my wife was craving some dessert so we went to Lapia again to have some shaved ice. 

八戸もそんなに遠くないし、妻がデザートも食べたいし、ラピアで最近出来たかき氷に行くことにした。

At the Lapia Mall, Okome Taishi (Rice Ambassador) and his helpers were doing some kind of event. 

ラピアでおこめ大使が居た。なんかのイベントが開催してた。

Newly opened on the first floor is the Shaved Ice specialty shop [Korito]. 

最近オープンした天然氷のかき氷専門店「こおりと」。

We shared an order of the Marscapone Strawberry shaved ice.

私たちがシェアしたのはマルスカイチゴショート・天然氷のいちご雫ミルク。

It was more like eating a soft serve than shaved ice. It's probably the best shaved ice I've ever had. 

かき氷というよりソフトを食べる感じ。いままで食べたかき氷でこれが一番美味しい。

The shop asks adult to order at least one item from the menu and since we shared the shaved ice, my wife ordered coffee. 

大人ならメニューからワンアイテムを注文することが条件となってる。

Then, on our way back to Aomori, we stopped by Misawa Veedol Beach.

[Evidence of Tsunami] / 津波の証

The 9.0 Magnitude earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 caused a tsunami that measured 7.4 meters (24.3 ft) here.

The beach was just about to close when we got there so we didn't walk out to the ocean. That is the Pacific Ocean in the background. 

着いた時、ビーチはもうすぐ閉店となる、海の近くまで歩けなかった。ちなみそれは太平洋ですよ。

Sapporo Soup Curry & Nepal Curry [Bihani] / 札幌スープカレー＆ネパールカレー「ビハニ」

Recently, my wife has been watching a lot of travel bloggers on YouTube and she's been focusing on the country of India. So it was no surprise to me that she wanted to go out and eat some Indian curry. There are at least three Indian restaurants in Aomori City but my wife also wanted to make a drive of it as well. She did a little research and decided that we should try out a place called Ankur which is located right outside the gates to Misawa Base. Unfortunately, when we got to Misawa and went to the restaurant right at opening time, we discovered that it was closed as a private reservation was made that morning. We were a little bummed but we were prepared. We already knew that Misawa also has about three Indian restaurants so we went to the next place on our list. A restaurant called [Bihani] which I believe is a chain restaurant since there's a location in Aomori City on the East side of town. 

最近、自分の妻が良くYouTubeでトラベルブロガーのサイトを見てる。結構面白いと言ってるのがインド。それで、妻がインドカレーが食べたと行って、どっか行ってみようという話になった。靑森市に最低でも３軒のインドレストランはあるが、妻が市内じゃなくて、ちょっと離れたところに行ってみたい。彼女が検索したら、一番良さそうな店が三沢市にある「アンクル」というところでした。丁度「アンクル」の開店時間で店に行ったら、本日は貸し切りと言われた！！ショック！！でも、万が一そういうことがあったら、別の店を行くことも考えてた。「ビハニ」という店に行くことにした。この店は靑森市にもあるから「アンクル」を選んだ。でも三沢市に居るし、「アンクル」は貸し切りだし、「ビハニ」に行きました。

My wife and I both ordered the cheese naan set. The set includes cheese naan, salad, one piece of chicken tikka, a choice of one curry, and a choice of drink. The curries you can choose from our chicken, palak chicken (spinach & chicken), butter chicken, dal (lentils), or prawn. I chose the palak chicken while my wife had the prawn. 

僕と妻はチーズナンセットを注文。セットに付いてるのはもちろんチーズナン。その他にサラダ、チキンティッカ１ｐ、ドリンクとカレー。カレーは５州類から選べるーチキン、パラクチキン（ほうれん草チキン）、バターチキン、ダルチキンと海老）。僕はパラクチキンを選んで、妻は海老。

What really surprised us was the cheeses naan. We thought the cheese was blended in with the naan or just maybe have a light coating. Nope, there seemed to more cheese in the naan than you would find in a Mexican quesadilla! It was delicious but so filling!

私たちがびくりしたのはチーズナンでした。多分練り込んでるか、ちょっとだけ入ってる感じだったの想ったが、全然違う。メキシカン料理のケサディヤより量が多い。美味しかったけど、すぐ満腹になる。

We both ordered mango lassis to enjoy with our curry. 

選んだ飲み物はやはりマンゴラッシでしょう。

The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. The cheese naan set costs ￥1380. After lunch, there was one place I wanted to check out before heading home but that will be for a separate post. 

全ての料理は美味しかった。値段もリーズナブル。セット料金は￥１３８０。ランチを食べ終わってから、自分が行ってみたところがあり、そこを目指した。でもそのはまた別の時に紹介します。
