Last Tuesday was my sister-in-law's birthday. For my birthday, she bought me (and my wife and mother-in-law), yakiniku so we could have a little yakiniku party at home during our quarantine since we had all contracted the coronavirus. In return, I wanted to treat my sister-in-law to a delicious meal. My sister-in-law loves salmon so I thought I would treat her to a lox sandwich from the Pommiel bagel shop in Daishaka. However, my wife asked where would we eat, in the car. No, I said we could take the sandwiches next door to the Sou Cafe and if we order coffee there, we could also eat our sandwiches there. Before picking up my sister-in-law, I worked out in my den and did three rounds on the treadmill. As I looked down on the farmer's fields, I saw a heron.
先週の火曜日は僕の義理の妹の誕生日でした。彼女は僕の誕生日の為に焼き肉を買ってくれた。その時、僕と妻と義理の母が新型コロナに感染し、自宅療養の最中だった。ま、そのとき私たち３人は大分回復しましたが、１０日間の隔離生活の間だった。お返しに僕が義理の妹に美味しいものをご馳走してあげたいなと想った。彼女は大のサーモン好き。それなら大釈迦にあるベーグルショップ「ポムメエル」のロックスサンドが良いんじゃないかなと想った。妻がそこに行って、何処で食べるの？車の中？いえ、いえ、いえ。ポムミエルのサンドを買ったら、隣にあるコーヒーショップ「ソウ・カフェ」で食べられる。飲み物を注文するとポムメイルのサンドの持ち込みはオッケー。義理の妹を迎えに行く前に朝の運動をやってました。トレッドミルトレーニング３回。外を見たら、書斎から見える田んぼに１羽のサギを見た。

This is the Sou Cafe, located next to the Pommiel bagel shop. The man who runs this coffee shop is the father of the woman who runs the bagel shop.
これがソウ・カフェ。ベーグルショップ「ポムミエル」の隣にある。このカフェの店主はベーグルショップオーナーのお父さんです。
We decided to sit at a counter seat where we could look outside to the open fields.
窓側のカウンター席に座って、外の景色を楽しめた。カフェはポツンと田んぼの中にあるみたい。
The cafe owner said I was free to take pictures of the interior of the shop.

My sister-in-law and I had the bagel monsieur (a croque monsieur with bagels instead of bread). It's very similar to an American grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Of course we both had the lox sandwich as well. Lox being a fillet of brined salmon which is smoked or not.
僕と義理の妹が食べたのはベーグルムッシュ（クロックムッシュのベーグルバージョン）ともちろん僕のおすすめのロックスサンド。ロックスは加工処理された鮭の切り身。
The lox sandwich includes the salmon with cream cheese, onions, and capers on a sesame seed bagel.
ロックスサンドは胡麻ベーグルにサーモン、クリームチーズ、オニオンとケッパー入り。

I didn't take a picture of what my wife and sister-in-law drank. They both ordered the iced coffee. My wife said the ice cubes used in her iced coffee were frozen coffee cubes so when they melt, the drink doesn't get diluted.
妻と義理の妹が注文した飲み物の写真は撮ってなかった。二人ともがアイスコーヒーを頼んでた。妻がコーヒーに入ってる氷もコーヒーから出来てるため、溶けても味は薄くならないと言ってました。
My wife isn't a big fan of salmon so the other bagel sandwich she had was a blueberry cream cheese.
自分の妻はあんまりサーモンが好きじゃないため、もう一つ買ったベーグルはブルーベリークリームチーズでした。
We then headed to the Roadside Station [Aruja] in Tsuruta Town. My wife was planning on buying her sister the frozen edition of Banryu's spicy negi ramen. We were going to buy a couple for ourselves too and have that for dinner this evening.
ランチを食べ終わったら、鶴田町の道の駅「アルジャ」に行きました。妻が妹の為に「幡龍」の冷凍旨辛ネギラーメンを買ってくれるの。私たちの分も買うつもりで、今夜の夕飯はそのラーメン。
It was still early so we asked my sister-in-law if she has ever been to the Tsuru no Maihashi. She hasn't, so that was our next destination. But that will be for next time.
まだ早いから義理の妹に鶴の舞橋は行ったことあるかと訪ねたら、行ったことないと言った。それで次の目的地が決まりました。目指すのは鶴の舞橋。それはまた今度。
