この旅で写真結構撮りまくった。フェリーターミナルからバスえベイエリアを目指した。目的は金森赤レンガ倉庫群。本当の目的地は「カリフォーニア・ベイビー」をいうレストラン。僕はその店の名物、函館ソールフードでも言えるシスコライス。多分「ラッキー・ピエロ」のチャイニーズチキンバーガーの次の人気ある食べ物かも知りません。
This was such a cool building I had to do some research on it. It is called the Otemachi House. It used to house the old Asano Cement Company's sales office. It was designed by a man named Jinzaburo Muraki and built in 1918. The building was empty from 1990 until 2004 when it was renovated and now a cafe called [CentNaire]. We're going to have to come back here some time in the future.
カッコイイビルと思ったので、家に帰っていろいろ調べました。これは函館大手町ハウスという建物。旧浅野セメント営業所で使われたビルです。設計したのは村木甚三郎。１９１８年（大正７年）に建てられた。１９９０年から２００４年まで空家になってましたが、現在は飲食店で活用されてます。カフェ「ソンテネール」になってます。いつかまた函館に来たら、ここにランチか夕飯を食べてみよう。
We are now passing through the Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse area.

This is the Bluemoon Hakodate. You can take a day cruise and enjoy lunch on the ship or you can opt for a night cruise. Something else we will have to do in the future.
観光客船ブルームーンです。昼ならカフェクルーズが楽しめる。もしくはナイトクルーズも選べられる。

The interior has a western atmosphere and when we were there, American music from the '80s was playing. I heard Huey Lewis and the News "Power of Love", the Deniece Williams song "Let's Hear It for the Boy" and others.
店内はアメリカ風で流れてる音楽もアメリカの８０年代に流行ったヒューイ・ルイス・アンド・ザ・ニュースの”パワー・オブ・ラブ”やデニース・ウィリアムズの”レッツ・ヒア・イット・フォー・ザ・ボイ」など。
This is California Baby's Cisco Rice dish. It's rice topped with a sauce that's close to chili along with two large wieners. The portion was pretty large and it tasted good too.
僕の念願のカリフォーニアベイビーのシスコライス。量も多い、味も濃い。チリコンカーンに似たようなソースが白ご飯の上に乗って、その上にウィーナーが２本もある。結構美味しかった。
After lunch we were passing through the Kanamori Warehouses and other souvenir shops along the waterfront. We were headed to our next destination - the Memorial Ship [Mashu Maru].
食べ終わって、また金森赤レンガ倉庫やベイエリアのお土産さんを通った。次の目的を目指した。それが青函連絡船メモリアルシップ「摩周丸」。

We did make a slight detour and stopped here, a pastry shop called [Snaffles]. For 200yen you can enjoy a small but really rich cheese omelette with a small cup of coffee. You can choose different flavors as well but we all chose the original cheese.
ちょっとした寄り道をしました。函館洋菓子店の「スナッフルス」に行きました。ここで２００円で名物のチーズオムレツとコーヒーが楽しめる。いろんな味が選べられるけど私たちはオリジナルのチーズにしました。

There is a JMSDF (Japan Maritime Self Defense Force) battleship in the harbor.
港に海上自衛隊のイージス艦がいる。
And there is our next destination - the Memorial Ship [Mashu Maru].
次の目的地に近づいた。メモリアルシップ「摩周丸」。
But that will be the subject of the next post...
