Yoshoku Grill [Bistro 309] / 洋食ギリル「ビストロ ３０９」

After thoroughly exploring the Kusumi Family Residence, we went to the large shopping center called ELM in Goshogawara. Before walking around the mall, we decided to have lunch and picked a place called [Bistro 309]. I thought this was a strange name for a restaurant until my wife told me it stood for "St. Marc Cafe". You could translate the number 3(三) to san. 0 to maru which also means circle but is often used for the number zero or the letter O and 9(九) which is pronounced "ku". Therefore, "3-0-9" is "san-maru-ku", a phonetic spelling of St. Marc.

久須美住宅を堪能したあと、五所川原の大きなショッピングモール”エルム”に行きました。店を見る前にやっぱりどこかでランチを食べることにした。行ってみたのはエルムの中にある「ビストロ ３０９」。最初は３０９ってどういう意味だろと思ったが、妻がそれを簡単に解説してくれました。それは番号というより、”サン・マル・ク”と読むだよ。サン・マル・ク。サンマルク系列のレストランだった。

I've always loved these plastic food displays you see througout Japan.

ディスプレー用の料理は昔から凄いと思ってました。今でも凄いですね。

The best thing about this restaurant? The all-you-can eat bread buffet. The bread is freshly made in the restaurant itself and there is so many varieties to choose from.

この店のウリはやっぱりどう言ってもパンの食べ放題ですね。店内に作られ、焼きたてのパンが食べれるのはは最高！種類も豊富。

I can't remember all the types of bread I ate but I know I had a croissant, a mugwort bread, cheese bread, sugar roll, and a sausage butter roll to name a few.

食べた種類は全部覚えてないが、確かに食べたのはクロワッサン、ヨモギロール、ソーセージチャバター、シュガーロール、チーズブレッドなど。

I had the meat sauce pasta gratin.

自分が注文したのはミートソースのパスタグラタン。

My wife and mother-in-law ordered the grilled white fish topped with a shrimp sauce. 

妻と義理の母が注文したのは白身魚のグリル、エビ風味のクリームソース。
