Going back to Golden Week during 2017 when our friends Yukio and Reiko came to visit, we all decided to the Shimokita Peninsula and stay the night in Ohata. Our main objective would be to see the wild breed of horses called kandachime at Cape Shiriya.
また２０１７年のゴールデンウィークに戻ります。友達の幸男と玲ちゃんが千葉から青森に来て、四人で下北半島の旅に出かけた。今回の目的は尻屋崎にある寒立馬（かんだちめ）。下北半島の大畑で一泊する予定。
But first we had to stop at this tofu shop in Yokohama Town called [Yusuitei] to pick up their unohana donuts. These are handmade tofu donuts and their so good!
でも横浜町にちょっと寄り道。豆腐の店「湧水亭」に行きました。この店の卯の花ドーナッツが名物。卯の花ドーナッツというのはおからドーナッツです。
We ordered a box of donuts.
私たちは一箱を注文。
These are so delicious when fresh out of the fryer.
揚げたてが一番美味しい。
We made a brief stop at the Roadside Station in Yokohama Town and picked up some fried scallops.
横浜町の道の駅に寄って帆立揚げを買った。
And here we are at Cape Shiriya.
そして尻屋崎に到着。
A small souvenir shop and restaurant. We will probably eat here a little later.
小さなおみやげ屋とレストラン。ランチは多分ここで済ます。

We didn't see any kandachime near the lighthouse.

We finally spotted them! The kandachime!
寒立馬やっと発見！
Now that we saw the horses, we decided to head to our next destination. An outdoor bath called "Kappa no Yu" in the Yagen Valley.
寒立馬をやっと会えて、次の目的地へ。それは薬研温泉郷。目指すのは”かっぱのゆ”。
On our way to the Yagen Valley, we spotted this horse in an enclosed field.
薬研に行く途中、また馬を発見。
And so our travels continue...
そして下北半島の旅がつづく。。。
