現在僕は仕事から９連休の休みに入ってます。今回はどこも行かず、”ステイケーション”を決行。休み初日、妻がドライブに出かけないと提案して、今日は深浦町まで遊びに行くことを決定。朝８時半から家を出発、新たな冒険の始まりだ！鰺ヶ沢でなぜか渋滞。理由はなんと今日鰺ヶ沢でトライアソロンのコースの一部があった。

Our first real stop was at a Roadside Station called Kasose Ikayaki Mura which would translate to Kasose Grilled Squid Village. However, it was still early in the morning and we were not hungry for grilled squid. We did walk around the area a little bit though. The area which captured my interest was called Toriizaki.
最初の寄り道は深浦の道の駅「かそせ いか焼き村」。まだ朝だったし、軽い朝食も食べたので、ここでいか焼きは食べてません。でも海沿いの風景を眺めました。場所は鳥居崎というところでした。

Driving along the coast, we spotted another place that we decided to explore. We discovered the name of the place when leaving, it was called the Oiwa Peninsula.
海沿いにドライブしながら、また面白そうの場所を発見。そこもちょっと探検して、去るときに地名のサインがあった。ここは大岩海岸と書いてあった。
There is a small shrine on this island.
島に小さな神社がありました。
Yep, we're going to climb up that little mound of rocks in the distance.

Heading back to the car to continue our adventures. The weather was still on our side so we headed towards Lake Juniko and the Ao Ike (Blue Pond).
車に戻って、冒険が続く。天気も良く次目指したのは十二湖にある青池。
My wife spotted a remnant of Santa Land! There are still four Santas serving this bridge.
妻がサンタランドを思い出させるものを発見。このふれあい橋に４体のサンタがまだ守ってるんですね。

And here it is - Ao Ike which would translate to "Blue Pond" in English.
到着、十二湖の名所「青池」。
Why the lake becomes this blue is still an unsolved mystery.
なぜこの池がこんなに青いの今でも不明です。

Look how clear the pond is, you can see the fish swimming in it.
この池の透明度も凄い。普通に泳いでる魚が良く見えます。
The Ao Ike (Blue Pond) is 975 square meters (10,495 square inches) and has a depth of 9.0 meters (29.5 feet).
This is our fourth visit to the Ao Ike so I suggested to my wife that we should check out some of the other lakes and ponds that we haven't seen before.
青池に来たは４回目。妻にせっかく十二湖に来てるから別の池を見に行ってみようと提案した。

I saw a sign for the Wakitsubo Pond and suggested we check it out before looking having lunch.
脇壺の池のサインを見たので、ランチ食べる前にそこも探索しようと提案した。

落口の池に戻りました。
This is where we decided to have lunch. My wife ordered the yaki-boshi ramen while I opted for the Jomon udon topped with mountain vegetables.
ここでランチを食べました。妻は焼き干しのラーメンを注文して、僕が食べたのは縄文うどん、山菜入り。
The ramen and udon were nothing to write home about but they weren't bad either. Standard fare. My wife thought here ramen cost a little more than it should but as this is a major tourist area, prices tend to be higher than regular shops.
ラーメンとうどんは不味くないけど、普通に美味しい。妻がラーメンの値段はちょっと高めと思ったが、ここは観光名所だから仕方がないと言った。
One more spot to check out at Lake Juniko, the Japan Canyon.
十二湖にもう一箇所行ってみたかった。それは日本キャニオン。

日本キャニオンを目指してます。
The viewpoint is only 0.6 km from the parking lot but as we were the only ones there, my wife was afraid of meeting any bears but we walked up the trail anyway.
日本キャニオンが見える場所は駐車所から０．６kmですが、山道で、妻が熊に遭遇するのはが怖いけど登りました。
In order to avoid meeting any bears, my wife used an application on her cell phone that gives off a sound to let bears know there are humans about. She also brought along a cane just in case.
熊避けのため妻が自分のスマフォンに熊鈴のアプリを使用して、熊と戦うための道具で杖も持ってきました。
Uh, that's the canyon? Just looks like a small mountainside. Also nothing to write home about.
え？あれが日本キャニオン？大したことないですね。普通の山の崖。パワースポットでも思えない。
This is the JR Juniko Station. My wife saw a sign for Ao Ike ice-cream so we decided to pop in and try one.
これはJR十二湖駅。妻が駅の外に青家ソフトののぼりを見て、やっぱり青池ソフトも食べてみないっと。
The Ao Ike ice cream is yogurt flavored. I also found a pamphlet titled "Ice-Cream Highway" featuring the regional flavored ice-creams. We may to check some of these other places out as well.
青池ソフトはヨーグルト味でした。あとソフトクリーム街道のチラシも見つけて、青森限定のソフトが紹介されてる。ほかも食べてみるべきですね。
