Last weekend when my wife and I went to Hachinohe, we first went to the Kabushima Shrine and then to the Hachinohe City Marine Science Museum before driving along the Tanesashi Coast in search of a place to eat lunch.
先週松、妻とドライブに出掛けて八戸に行った。目的の種差海岸沿いのドライブに行く前に蕪嶋神社と八戸市水産科学館「マリエント」に寄ってました。ドライブしながら、飲食店も探してた。
The Ashigezaki Observatory / 葦毛崎展望台
On the left of the picture is the Samekado Lighthouse. The lighthouse is open to the public on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Darn! I wish I knew that before we went. I love the views from lighthouses!
写真の左側の建物は鮫角灯台。平成25年度より、毎年期間限定（4月～10月の土日祝日など）で一般開放事業を八戸市が実施している。俺それを出掛ける前に知ってたら、上まで上ったのに！灯台上からの眺めは最高。また今度だな。
The Pacific Ocean / 太平洋
There is also a path along the coast that you can walk.
種差海岸沿いに遊歩道もあります。

We're about 6,500 kilometers (approx 4,038 miles) from Honolulu, Hawaii and about 8.400 kilometers (approx 5,220 miles) from Los Angeles.
ここからハワイ州ホノルルは約６５００キロ。ロスまでは約８４００キロ。
We spotted a restaurant along the coast called [Shibatei] that also had fresh sea urchin bowl on their menu...and was a bit cheaper than at the Marine Science Museum. It was 2,500yen but I said I would treat my wife and that made her mighty happy!
海岸沿いで「芝亭」というレストランを発見。この店のメニューにも生うに丼があり、水産科学館より安かった。￥２５００でした。妻にご馳走してあがるから、妻が超喜んでた。

Since I was treating my wife to a ￥2500 bowl of sea urchin, I told her I'm gonna order a beer for myself.
妻に￥２５００の生うに丼をご馳走てあげてるから、自分にビールを注文すると伝えた。

I ordered the mixed grill set which comes with rice, miso soup, salad, and pickles. My lunch was only ￥1000.
自分が注文したのはミックスグリルセット。ライス、味噌汁、サラダとお新香付き。値段は￥１０００だけ。
My mixed grill lunch consisted of squid, shrimp, sea bream, and horse mackerel.
僕のミックスグリルに入ってのはイカ、鰺、海老、と鯛。
Just kicking back after lunch.
昼食後でちょっとリラックしてました。

We decided to have dessert at the Hashikami Roadside Station.
デザートは階上道の駅で食べようと想った。
However, this wasn't the place we had in mind. On a previous visit to Hashikami, we stopped by what we thought was a roadside station and had some delicious gelato. That's what we were after. My wife did a quick search on her smartphone and we discovered the name of the place that we wanted to go to is called [Forest Pia Hashikami].
道の駅 はしかみに着いたら、私たちが想った場所と違った。以前階上に来たとき、ジェラトを提供してる店で蕎麦を食べてた。今日はその店のジェラトを食べるのが目的。妻がスマホで階上ジェラトを検索したら、私たちが行きたい場所が分かった。店の名前は「フォレストピア 階上」。

The two flavors I chose were salt and mulberry leaf. My wife ordered banana and buckwheat seeds.
自分が食べたのは塩と桑の葉。妻が食べたのはバナナと早生そば。
After we ate our gelato, it was time to head home and so ended our adventure for the day.
ジェラトを食べ終わったら、家に帰る時間になり、今日の冒険の幕が閉じた。
