先月の週末に僕と妻が十和田市まで出かけました。僕が行きたい場所があって。それが十和田現代美術館。妻は最初あんまり興味持っていなかかったが、帰ったあと、行って良かったと言ってくれました。
Before we left for Towada, I got my hair cut. It only cost one thousand yen and only took about fifteen minutes.
十和田に行く前に髪切りに行きました。税込で千円。それにしても１５分で終了した。
We would be passing through the Hakkoda mountains and it is the season for the autumn foliage.
十和田に行くのは八甲田の山のほうを遠て、丁度今は紅葉の時期です。
We stopped by the Jigoku Numa which translates to "Hell Pond" which is located near the Sukayu Hot Spring.
酢ヶ湯温泉の近くにある地獄沼にちょっと寄り道。
Towada is known as an art town. I spotted these birds by the parking lot we used.
十和田はアートの街でも知られてるので、駐車所の隣にこういう鳥たちを発見した。
It seems somebody lost a shoe here as well.
誰か片足の靴を失くしたみたいね。
There really is some cool art at the Towada Art Center.
十和田現代美術館に本当に素晴らしい作品がいっぱい揃ってます。
That is one cool building! The painting was done by a British national named Paul Morrison and titled [Ochrea].
カッコイイ建物だ！神話に登場するリンゴの木もモチーフにした白黒の繪。作家はイギリス出身のポール・モリソン。作品名は「オクリア」。
One of the first art pieces you will encounter before going into the museum. This piece is called [The Flower Horse] by Jeonghwa Choi.
入館する前目がこの作品にいきますね。この作品は「フラワー・ホース」。作家が韓国出身のチェ・ジョンファ。
I recognized the art work by Yoshitomo Nara on side of the building.
奈良美智の作品がビルの横側の壁に描かれました。

Buying our tickets for the museum. Another great thing about this museum is photography is allowed for their permanent collection.
入館のチケットを購入。十和田現代美術館のもう一つの魅力はパーマネントコレクションの写真撮影はオッケイ。
Once inside, you are greeted by a four meter tall (13ft) statue of a woman. The title is [Standing Woman] created by the Australian artist Ron Mueck.
ビルの中に入ると最初に出迎えるのは巨大な叔母さん。彼女は４メートル近くもある高さ。作家はオストラーリア出身のロン・ミュエク。
She's huge but so real!
でっかくって超リアル！
This was a piece by Shuji Yamamoto and is titled [Pine no.32].
これは山本修路作品の「松 其ノ三十二」。
This was a strange piece. It was made by a Korean artist named Changkyum Kim and titled [memory in the mirror].
これはまた不思議な作品。作られたのは韓国出身のキム・チャンギョム。作品名は「メモリ・イン・ザ・ミラー」。
The images are constantly changing.
イメージがちょこちょこ変わる。
Another night scene.
また暗闇の世界観が。
This piece is by a Belgian artist named Hans Op de Beeck. His piece is titled [Location (5)].
この作品の作家さんはベルギー出身のハンス・オプ・デ・ビーク。作品名は「ロケーション （５）」。
It really feels like you're sitting inside a diner after closing time that's built over the road.
なんだか閉店したあとのダイナーの中に居るみたい。で、そのダイナが道路の上に建てられてる。
If you look closely, you can see there is a telephone.
良く見ると電話がある。
This is the [Wish Tree for Towada] created by Yoko Ono. A couple of visitors to the museum are tying their wishes to the tree.
この作品はオノ・ヨーコの「念願の木」。来客が紙に書いた願いをこの木に結んでます。
The cobblestones used in the courtyard are part of another piece by Yoko Ono called [Riverbed].
中庭に使われてる玉石を川に見立ててた作品の「三途の川」。
Yoko Ono has a third piece at this museum. This is the [Bell of Peace], the bell was donated by Daikakuji Temple.
オノ・ヨーコは三つの作品を展示されてる。これがその一つ、「平和の鐘」。大覚寺から寄贈された鐘です。
