Hiranai Gourmet Hall [Hotate Ichiban] / ひらないまるごとグルメ館 ご当地レストラン 「ホタテ一番」

About eight years ago, the [Hiranai Gourmet Hall] opened in Hiranai Town, near the Hotate Hiroba or Scallop Square in English. We (me, my wife and my mother-in-law) decided to check it out and have lunch at the restaurant called [Hotate Ichiban]. 

８年前、平内町にあるほたて広場の隣に「はらないまるごとグルメ館」が出来た。その中のほたて専門レストラン「ホタテ一番」でランチを食べることに決定。

平内町にあるほとて広場。

This was the newly built Hiranai Gourmet Hall that houses the restaurant [Hotate Ichiban]. 

この建物が新しく出来たひらないまるごとグルメ館。中にご当地レストラン「ホタテ一番」が入ってる。

The restaurant's menu. As the restaurant had just opened, it was quite crowded. We had about a forty-five minute wait or so before we were shown to our table. 

レストンのメニュー。新しくオープンしたばっからいなので、超混んでた。席まで案内されるのは約４５分後だった。

Oh, I caught a glimpse of the Aoimori Railway passing by. 

おう、青い森鉄道が通ってるのを見ました。

Ah, this was my order. I'm a big cheese lover so of course I ordered the No.6 - Piping hot grilled scallops with raclette cheese. 

あぁ、これは僕が注文したメニュー。ナンバー６の「熱々！ホタテのラクレットチーズ焼き」。

You can't go wrong with cheese!

チーズなら間違いありません。

So good! Unfortunately, this picture is a little blurry. 

美味しい！！残念ながら写真がちょっとぶれてる。

This is no doubt my mother-in-law's order. She's not very adventurous and says she's not really a fan of anything raw, although the order does include raw scallops. 

これは間違いない、自分の義理の母が注文したもの。彼女がいつも生ものが苦手大抵オムライスやカレーを注文する。ま、ほたての専門店なので、このセットにホタテ刺身が付いてる。正式のメニュー名は「ホタテ刺身パフェ＆新タンポポオムライス」。

Yes, it's the type of rice omelet where you cut the top and unfold it. This omurice dish is made by placing a fluffy, half-cooked omelet on ketchup rice, and then cutting it open with a knife just before eating, allowing the runny egg to spread out like a blooming flower.

はい、タンポポオムライスはふわふわの半熟オムレツをケチャップライスに乗せ、食べる直前にナイフで切れ目を入れて開くことで、花が咲くようにとろとろの卵が広がるオムライスのことです。 

The scallop sashimi parfait. 

ホタテ刺身パフェです。

Hm, I think my wife may have ordered the same dish as my mother-in-law.

あれ、妻も義理の母が注文したものと一緒だったかも。

By the way, you can eat some scallop ice cream at the Hotate Hiroba. It's actually pretty good!

そう言えば、ほたて広場でホタテアイスが食べられますよ。以前は食べたので、結構美味しいよ。

The restaurant was still crowded even after we finished eating. 

私たちが食べ終わってから、まだ混んでました。

We decided to walk around the area and I spotted the Aomori Scallop Votive Place. 

レストランの周りを歩いてみたら、靑森ほたて貝祈願掛け所があった。

And so ended our lunch adventure.
