Around mid-May, Yokohama Town on the Shimokita Peninsula holds its annual Rape Blossom Festival. I believe this was our first time going there to check it out.
５月の中旬、靑森県横浜町に菜の花祭りが開催されます。確かこの年は始めて行ったと思う。
On our way to Yokohama Town, we passed through Noheji Town and stopped to check out the Kitamae Ship on display.
横浜町行きの途中、野辺地町で展示されてる北前船を見に行きました。

Just so you know, Kitamae Ships were cargo ships that sailed the Japan Sea during the Edo era.
北前船（きたまえぶね）とは、江戸時代から明治時代にかけて日本海海運で活躍した、主に買積みの北国廻船（かいせん）の名称。
Oh, it's Noheji Town's mascot - Jiino.
おう、野辺地町のゆるキャラクター「じーの」だ。
On our way to the rape blossom fields, I spotted the Aoimori Railway oneman car.
横浜町菜の花会場に向かう途中、青い森鉄道のワンマンカーを見ました。

ここは本日の日帰り旅の最初の目的地。次はむつ市を目指す。むつグランドホテルの最上階にある「スカイ・レストラン」でランチを食べる予定。
