It's the second of February and we're still getting a lot of snow in Aomori. So, time to share with you many of the big snow days we had this season. Although the first snowfall of this season fell around sometime in November, the first day of snow-shoveling I did was on the 8th of December.
現在は２０２５年、２月の２週間目。相変わらす、今でも靑森市は雪に追われてます。ということで、今年の冬の写真をいろいろアップしようと想った。今回の冬の初雪は２０２４年⑪が月中旬でしがた、本格的に雪かきをしなきゃいけないのは１２月８日だった。

After we finished snow shoveling we went to Hachinohe for lunch and also relaxed at a hot spring before coming back to Aomori.
雪かきの終了後、八戸に行き、八戸でランチを食べて、靑森市に帰る前に極楽湯八戸に行きました。
It was our weekend and the following day, we found ourselves snow shoveling once again.
私たちの週末だったが、翌日も結構雪が降って、この日も雪かきをしてました。

It took a bit of time, but I always feel it's a bit of an accomplishment when we finish.
ちょっと時間かかったが、終了時の達成感が気持ち良い。
And then a couple of days before Christmas, we had another major snowfall so we spent the morning snow shoveling.
クリスマス当日の２日前、また大雪が降って、雪かきに追われました。
I opened the front door to see this!

Oh boy, once again the driveway and the path to the front door is covered in snow.
あ～あ、また車の周りや限界から車の小道に雪が積もってる。

外も寒そう！！
You can no longer see the guardrails. I made a slope to the height of the guard rail but as you can see, I will have to remake the slope as well.
もうガードレールが見えなくなった。いつもレールの高さを目安そして坂を作ってる。現在の坂もないので、それを作り直すことが先。
Time to start snow shoveling.
はい、雪かきタイム。
I always start with our walkway, then around the car and the rest of the driveway.
始まりはいつも玄関前から、車の周り、そして車のドライブウェイ。
And the snow dump slope always needs adjusting.
おう、雪捨て場の坂も定期的の調整が必要。
Depending on our time and energy, we then snow shovel around the side of the house.
時間のエネルギーがある次第、次は家の横で雪かきする。

Then, a couple of days before New Year's Eve, we had more snowfall.
大晦日２日前、また大量の雪が積もってた。
Before snow shoveling today, I decided to walk around our neighborhood first.
今日雪かきする前に近所でちょっとした散歩した。
I was heading to our local park.
近所にある小さな公園に向かった。

After finishing the main part of our snow shoveling, my wife and I decided to have a little winter fun and see if we could make an igloo.
雪かきの終了後、僕と妻がちょっとした冬遊びに挑戦してみた。玄関前の庭に積もった雪でかまくらを作ってみた。
It's a little too smal for an adult though.
大人にはちょっと小さすぎる。
This gives you an idea of how small the igloo is.
これでどのくらい小さいか分かる。
My wife also decided to check it out.
妻も入ってみた。
We made the igloo so you could see it from the comforts of our living room.
私たちがかまくらの位置を考えて、居間から見れる様に作った。
My wife decided to put candles in the igloo at night.
妻が夜になると私たちが作ったかまくらにロウソクを入れた。

Then it was New Year's Day, January 1, 2025.
２０２５年１月１日、元旦となった。
Our igloo is more of a half-dome than anything.
うちのかまくらはやはりハーフドームって感じだな。
Today is February 24 but outside our house it still looks like the pictures below.
今日は２月２４日。それでもうちの外は下記の写真の感じです。

かまくらを作り直すことも考えたが、３時間も雪かきしてたので、やはり、中に行ってリラックするべきがベストに決まってる。
