Memorial Ship [Hakkoda Maru] (Part 2) / メモリアルシップ「八甲田丸」（パート２）

Coming back to my tour of the Memorial Ship [Hakkoda Maru]. After checking out the Seikan World which had many dioramas of life in Aomori City during the Showa Era, it was time to check out the rest of the ship. 

メモリアルシップ「八甲田丸」の”青函ワールド”、（昭和時代のジオラマの場所）の探索が終わって、これから船自体を探索。

These are remnants of the first class seats when the ferry was in service. This room also serves as a video theater. The film shown on the monitor is two hours long. 

ここはグリーン船室跡乗客用椅子とビデオシアター。「青函連絡船 ～栄光の軌跡～」がリピートで上映されてます。本編は約２時間。

Back inside the ship, I continued my self-tour.

シップの中に戻って、セルフツアーを続いた。

This is the Purser's Room. 

ここが事務長室。

This is the Captain's room. The Captain seems to be deep in thought.

ここが船長室。船長が考え事してるみたい。

This is the salon conference room. 

ここがサロン会議室。

外をちょっと覗いて見る。

I will explore the deck a little later.

I'm going to head up to the bridge.

The tour continues as we head below deck. Way below deck!! But I will save that for the next post. 

ツアーが続く。デッキ下に行く。結構下の方。ですがそれは次のネタの楽しみ。

Snow shoveling at home / 家の周りの雪かき

It's now March and a lot of the snow from this season's winter is starting to melt. But on Friday, January 28, I had to do a bit of snow-shoveling before heading off to work. 

今はもう３月になりました。街の雪が段々溶けてく。でも１月２８日の雪は凄かった。仕事行く前に２時間半くらい雪かきしてました。

The first thing you have to do after a heavy snowfall is clear away the snow from the front door. 

雪かきを始まるとき、最初に玄関前の雪を片付けないと。

Then you need to check the slope to where you will be dumping the snow. 

そのあとは雪捨て場に行く坂の様子と調整。

You need to clear part of the road for your own car as well. 

車がドライブウェイから出る様にすることも大事。

The scenery is beautiful but the amount of snow we have to get rid of doesn't give you a lot of time to admire the view. 

景色は綺麗けど、雪かきしてる間、そんな時間の余裕はありません。

You mustn't forget to scrape the snow off the car as well. 

車に積もった雪も晴らさることも忘れずに。

Sometimes you can't help but admire the view. 

忙しいけど、周りを眺めるのも避けられない。

Neighbors at work early in the morning as well. 

隣人も朝から雪かきしてますよ。

I try to clear the snow so you know where the gutter is. 

排水溝が見える様にしてるつもりですが、これも大変な作業。

After clearing the snow from the front of the door, off the car, the driveway, then you can think about snow-shoveling other parts of the house that needs it. 

玄関前、車の上、ドライブウェイの雪を片付けたら、ほかの場所の雪かきが出来る。

Clearing all this snow takes a lot of time.

この変の雪かきが結構時間かかる。

It's a start. But then I had to take a shower and get ready for work. 

始まったけど、終わらなかった。結構汗かくから、シャワー浴びて、着替えて、仕事に行ってまいりました。

It's March now but the snow hasn't completed melted in Aomori City. Today is Sunday, March 6 and the wind is blowing strong with a bit of snow blended in. The weather forecast called for a blizzard but there doesn't seem to be as much snow as predicted. Thank goodness! Today's collection of photos were taken from my den on the morning of January 19 and 20. 

今日の日付は２０２２年３月６日。青森市に雪は完全に溶けておりません。天気予報によると今日は吹雪になるはずだ。昨日の夜中から風が強くて何回も起こされた。起きても暴風が続いてます。まだ冬って感じなので、今日の写真は全て自分の書斎から撮ったもの。その日は１月の１９日と２０日でした。

Although it was in the morning, I could see a full moon above the trees and thought it looked beautiful.

It started to get sunny outside. This is the view of the farmer's field I can see from my den. 

段々晴れてきた。この眺めはいつも自分の書斎から見える景色です。

This was the following morning. It was a Thursday morning. As I was working out, I was watching the crow that stayed near that same spot for over thirty minutes. 

翌日の朝。運動しんがら、外を見たら、あのカラスが気になった。３０分以上その場所に居た。

The crow looked like it was overlooking his territory from its mighty loft. 

カラスが王様の様に、自分の土地を見晴らしてる感じ。
