Restaurant [Kawatsu] / レストラン 「カワツ」

After our first shrine visit to Okidate Inari Shrine, it was lunchtime. My wife suggested checking out the restaurant her mother was talking about the other day. We found it quite easily. It does look as if it's somebody's house. The name of the restaurant is [Kawatsu].

初詣のあとに昼食の時間になりました。この間義理の母が話してたレストランを探したら、今でも営業してました。店の名前は「カワツ」。外見だけを見ると人の家にしか思えない。

You knew this was a restaurant by the small sign posted outside.

レストランであることは外側にちゃんとした看板ばあります。

The restaurant has a nice homey atmosphere to it.

店の店内はアットホームの雰囲気でした。

I saw this character standing by the counter at the far end of the restaurant.

この雪だるまさんはカウンタの奥で見かけた。

The interior decorations were very cute too.

店内のインテリアの置物と飾りものも可愛い。

The restaurant has their own personalized napkins. I think the restaurant serves Italian food in the evening but on the lunch menu were items such as fried prawns and omurice (omelette rice).

店のナップキンもレストラン用で作らてましたね。夜になるともしかしてイタリアンレストランになると思うが、昼はちゃんとしたランチセットがあります。メニューにエビフライやオムライスが載ってた。

My wife ordered the fried prawns with crab gratin. The lunch set also includes soup, salad, and rice.

妻が注文したのはエビフライと蟹グラタン。セットにスープ、サラダとライス付。

I ordered the omurice with crab-cream croquette.

自分が注文したのはオムライスとカニクリームコロッケ。

It was quite delicious. I think we will be coming back here again.

とっても美味しかった。また来ようと思ってます。

My wife also liked the design of the coffee cup and saucer.

妻がコーヒーマグと皿も気に入りました。

The rest of the day was uneventful and we just went home.

そのあとはなんも予定もなかったので、うちに帰って、のんびり過ごしました。
