Road trip to Senjojiki, Lake Juniko, and the Furofushi Hot Spring (Part 4) / 千畳、十二湖と不老不死温泉の旅 （パート４）

We were headed home from Furofushi Hot Spring, but as we passed through Fukaura again, a large temple caught our eye so we had to investigate. It was the Engakuji Temple.

不老不死温泉の露天風呂を入ったあと、そのまま家に帰るつもりだったが、深浦を通ったら気になるお寺発見。もちろんそこに探索しないと気がすまない。行ってみたのは円覚寺（えんがくじ）。

This was interesting. There is a small museum located close to the temple called the "Kazemachi Kan". We only saw this replica of a ship as the museum was located in another building. It will be something for us to do next summer.

この建物も面白いと思った。お寺の近くに小さな博物館があって、ここは記念写真が出来る場所でした。入ってなかったため、来年の夏に一つ行くところが決定。

We made one more stop before heading home. This is the Kasose Roadside Station. Also known as the "Grilled Squid Village".

もう一箇所の寄りました。深浦の道の駅「かそせ いか焼き村」。

We managed to see the sunset somewhere along the road on our way home and so ended our day trip.

旅の途中で夕焼けも見えて、これで本日の冒険の幕が閉じた。

As we went to Lake Juniko in the beginning of April, it was a bit too early in the season. Most of the restaurants and shop would not be open for business until the 24th. We had to backtrack a bit and stopped by a resort area called WeSpa Tsubakiyama. At least there would be restaurant there where we could have lunch.

十二湖に行ったのは４月の上旬。まだ観光の季節ではないため、ほとんどの施設が閉まってた。仕方なく、ちょっと前に通ったリゾート地のウェスパ椿山に行くことにした。そこではレストランがあるため、ランチが食べられる。

Yes, this restaurant is made in the image of a castle. The name of the place is called "Camellia". I said to my wife this would be a great place to stay when my sister and her husband come to visit. This area features guest houses, a shop, a glass factory, a short monorail to an observation deck, an insect museum, and of course a hot spring where we you can enjoy the view of the Sea of Japan.

はい、このレストランは城の形になってます。店の名前は「カミリア」。妻にいずれ妹が遊びに来るときにここに宿泊するのも面白そうだねと言った。レストランはもちろん。ゲーストハウスもあり、お土産屋、ガラス工房、展望台行きのモノレール、昆虫館ともちろん温泉がある。温泉から日本海が見えるのも魅力的だなと思った。

Ooh, and the beer tasted so good!

ビールがとっても美味しく飲みました！

My wife ordered the prawn and more set.

妻が注文したのはエビフライとその他のセット。

My mother-in-law ordered the prawn set.

義理の母の注文はエビフライでした。

And me? Well, I decided to have a pizza!

僕ですか？僕はピザを注文しました！

However, we did share a dessert.

デザートはシェアしました。

WeSpa Tsubakiyama was located near our next destination - the Furofushi Hot Spring.

ウェスパ椿山は次の目的地の不老不死温泉の近くにあるため、すぐ到着しました。

Furufushi is famous for its outdoor baths which are located on the edge of the ocean.

不老不死温泉の露天風呂が日本海のすぐ近くにあるためで有名。

Furofushi's outdoor bath is also famous for another reason. It is also called the "Sunset Hot Spring". This makes it a very popular destination. However, we were here around three in the afternoon and we weren't planning on waiting until the sun sets. We will have to do that another time.

不老不死温泉の露天風呂はもう一つの魅力があります。ここは別名で”夕焼け温泉”でも知られてる。露天を入りながら、日本海を眺めて、その夕焼けも見るのも大人気。私たちは午後３時に来てるから、日が暮れるまでは待ってられません。また来年の楽しみだ。

One other thing about Furofushi's outdoor bath. It is separated into two areas. One for women only. However, the other side is mixed. There is no men's only area here.

もう一つの特徴があります。女性のみの場所がありますが、もう一箇所は混浴です。男性のみの場所はありません。

I invited my wife over as we were the only people there but she declined. Bummer!

妻を混浴のほうに誘いましたが、あっさり断れました。残念！

We were going to head back home after our bath, but as we passed through Fukaura, we had to stop at a temple which caught our attention. It was called Engakuji Temple. So our adventures continue...

お風呂あがって、そのまま帰るつもりだったが、深浦を通ったら気になるお寺がありました。それが円覚寺。探検しないと気がすまない！それで旅がつづく。。。
