休日で良い天気。六月の中旬にまた日帰り旅行に出かけました。今回の目的地は十和田湖。もちろん奥入瀬渓流方面で行く。
We love driving through the mountains during nice weather.
良い天気で山道をドライブするのは最高。
However, our first stop was the Kayano Chaya.
でも、一番最初に止まった場所は萱野茶屋でした。

This teahouse is known for its tea of longevity.
萱野茶屋で有名なのは長生きの茶です。
The first cup will grant you three more years of life. Drink two cups and you will add six years to your life. If you have a third cup, you will live until you die. It seems kind of absurd to drink that third cup if you ask me.
一杯飲めば三年長生きし、二杯飲めば六年長生きし、三杯のめば、なんとなんとおどろいたことに死ぬまで生きる。あの。。。疑問ですが、三杯目を飲めば死ぬまでって、もし事故にあったらどうする？やっぱり二杯でやめるべきでは？
I stopped at having two cups.
自分は２杯しか飲んでません。
Don't these dango look appetizing. Unfortunately, we didn't buy any.
団子美味しそう。残念ながら、買えなかった。

Maybe later in the summer, we will walk along some of these trails.
夏にまたこの周辺でハイキングも考えてます。
Heading to the Oirase Gorge again through these tunnel of trees.
奥入瀬渓流を目指して、木のトンネルもいっぱい通ります。
This was an area of the Oirase Gorge we didn't stop at the last time we came through here. This part of the gorge is called the Ashura no Nagare.
奥入瀬渓流を以前に来た時、この辺を見逃しました。ここは阿修羅の流れと呼ばれてる。
And we've reached our main destination. A part of Lake Towada at the Towada Hachimantai National Park at Yasumiya.
目的地に到着。十和田湖。ここは十和田八幡平国立公園、休屋地区。

What to have for lunch? Hm, a Lake Towada Plate! Sounds pretty good to me.
ランチでなに食べようかな？おう、十和田湖づくし。これは良さそう。
My lunch consisted of fried lake smelt, fried kokanee (a landlocked variety of sockeye salmon), and fried vegetables from the surrounding area.
十和田湖づくしは十和田湖産のひめますフライ、十和田湖産のわかさぎフライ、十和田湖産山菜の小鉢、野菜のかきあげにごはん、味噌汁と漬物付き。
My wife ordered the shrimp tempura bowl set.
妻が注文したのは海老天丼のセット。
And here we are at Lake Towada.
そして、食べたあと、やっぱり十和田湖を見ないっと。

We were also headed to Towada Shrine by way of the Good Fortune Path.
十和田神社にもお参り行くことに、開運の小道から行きました。

Its a 20 minute walk to the top of the mountain where another shrine sits.

湖沿いで散歩。
Something nostalgic for my mother. I believe she and my mother-in-law had coffee here when my mother was visiting on her own.
お母さんの思い出の場所。以前は僕の義理の母の二人で来たコーヒーショップと思う。
The Towada Grand Hotel. I also once stayed here when I went on a family hot spring trip with my wife and her parents.
僕にも思い出の場所があった。以前妻の家族と一緒に温泉旅行に行った時、このホテルで宿泊した。
The local post office.
街の郵便局。
Another sentimental place for my wife who once stayed here with her grandmother.
このホテルも妻に取って思い出の場所。昔自分のおばあちゃんと泊まったホテルと話してくれた。
A local liquor store. I must check to see if they have any Aomori craft beers I haven't tried.
地酒の店だ。自分がまだ飲んでない青森県の地ビールがあるかどうかを調べないっと。
And there was. The store's original Black Apple beer, green apple beer and red apple beer! Of course, I bought all three types.
あった。これは飲んだことない。店のオリジナルのアップルビール。ブラックアップル、青りんごと赤りんご。楽しみだ。もちろん購入しました。
But this wasn't the end of our day trip. We thought about going straight home until we saw a sign that recaptured our interest, but that will be for next time...
ここで日帰り旅行が終わったわけじゃない。帰ろとしたが、また一つの表示が目に入って、もう一箇所行くことにした、でもそれはまた次回ではなします。。。
