Going back to 2018. My wife and I had just spent a week in Seattle with my family and now it was time to head back to Japan. However, instead of going straight back to Aomori City, we decided to spend the night in Tokyo to give us a chance to see our friends who still live in the metropolis.
２０１８年にまたタイムスリップしますよ。僕と妻が１週間ほどアメリカ、ワシントン州シアトルでの家族と過ごしました。残念ながら、日本に帰る日が来ました。日本に戻って、すぐ靑森市に行かず、東京で一泊することを決めた。そうすれば、東京の友達と会える。

成田国際空港に到着するまえ、機内の朝食を食べた。
I don't remember what time we touched down in Narita, but I do know that it was a Saturday. First, we first went to our hotel in Sangenjaya, then headed to my wife's childhood friend who runs a restaurant in Ushigome Kagurazaka called [Kitamachi Utou].
いつ日本に到着したのは覚えてないが、日にちは土曜日だった。空港から三軒茶屋に予約したホテルをチェックインしてから、妻の小学生の同級性のレストランで友達と会う約束していた。店の名前は北町「善知鳥」。
The food that was served was great.
提供してくれた食べ物は豪華だった。

My wife bought a lot of tote bags from Trader Joe's to give to our friends as souvenirs from our trip because there are no Trader Joe's in Japan.
妻がアメリカのトレーダー・ジョーズのトートバッグいっぱい買った。友達の為のお土産です。なぜと言えば、その店はまだ日本に上陸してないから。

Some of us did go to another place to eat and drink more.
二次会でこの店に来ました。

そして三次会はカラオケ。
As my wife and I went back to Sangenjaya, we wanted to walk around our old neighborhood as we had lived in the area for eleven years.
僕と妻が三軒茶屋のホテルに戻ってから、私たちが１１年間住んでた街を探索したくなった。
We had moved to Aomori City in 2016 so this was our first visit to Tokyo in about two years. We often ate at some of the restaurant you could find in Suzuran Street.
私たちが２０１６年に靑森市に引っ越したので、約２年ぶりの東京でした。すすらん通でいろんな飲食店で食べたな。
We often walked along the ryokudo or "greenway".
結構緑道で散歩したな。
I see this guy hasn't moved since we left.
おう、このたぬきがまだ緑道にいた。なんか嬉しくなっちゃう。
I had never been to this place after it became a live-house but had been there to drink on a few occasions. I took a picture of this because I have a friend who is a total Star Wars nerd and think it would be happy to see a band like that.
ライブハウスになった後は行ったことないけど、その前は何回も飲みに行ったことある。この写真を撮った理由は簡単。アメリカの友達がスター・ウォーズのオタクでこのバンドのライブは見たいだろうなと思った。

三軒茶屋の風景としてお馴染みのもう一つの光景。
We're taking the shinkansen back to Aomori City but we booked the time for around seven or eight in the evening so we would have time to explore Sangejaya in the daylight.
靑森市帰りの新幹線は１９時が１８時に予約したので、日中で三軒茶屋が探索出来るように。
