The Tomb of Christ / キリストの墓

And now one of the most unusual and amusing place you can check out in Aomori Prefecture. In Shingo Village, you will find the Tomb of Christ. Yes, that Jesus from the Christian bible. 

さて青森県で自分が一番気になってた場所を行ってみた。新郷村にあるキリストの墓。はい、そのイエスキリストの墓ですよ。

I kid you not, there really is a place called the Tomb of Christ. 

冗談ではございません。本当にキリストの墓という場所が存在してます。

There is a haiku engraved on the stone which I cannot read. 

岩に書かれてる俳句は読めません。

The English engraved to the left says: [The stone on the right was dedicated by the municipality of Jerusalem and a testimony of friendship between Shingo and the city of Jerusalem and the State of Israel. 

左側に書かれてるのは「この石はイスラエル国、エルサレム市と新郷村の友好の証としてエルサレム市より寄贈されたものである。」

The Tomb of Christ. There are two gravesites. This is the one for Jesus. The other gravesite is for Jesus's brother Isukiri, who allegedly was the person who died on the cross. 

キリストの墓。墓は二つあるので、右側にあるのはイエスの墓。もう一つの墓はイエスの弟イスキリの墓です。

This is the called the Christ-no-Sato Denshokan, it's a small museum about Herai Village (now Shingo Village) and the traditions surrounding the area. 

この建物はキリストの里伝承館。

Located near the Tomb of Christ are some mysterious "pyramids". I think they're actually rock formations that look like pyramids but Shingo Village made their motto "The Village of Mystery and Romance".  

キリストの墓の近くに大石神ピラミッドという名所もあり、こういうものが建てられたのはではないか。新郷村のもっとは「神秘とロマンの里」になってるみたい。

ミステリーというより謎だれけの村。

Perhaps this is my ancestor who lived in Herai Village. 

もしかてこの人はヘライに住んでた僕の祖先かも知りません。

Shingo Village holds a Christ Festival here every year. I may have to check it out one of these days. 

毎年新郷村にキリストまつりが開催される。一回行ってみたい。

Something about putting a cross on a baby's forehead to keep evil spirits away. Unfortunately, this doll looks more like the spawn of Satan than a pure Christian child. 

なんか昔こともが生まれれと幸運のために生んだ赤ちゃんのおでこにこういう十字架を書く説がある。でも実際の人形はサタンの子供にしか思えない。

There are some villagers to greet you in the Denshokan.

At the Christ Festival, a dance called the Nanyadoyara is performed. 

キリストまつりに「ナニャドヤラ」という踊りが行う。
