箱館一泊旅行の完結編。箱館奉行所を探索して、残りの時間は箱館駅周辺をブラブラ。そして駅からフェリーターミナルへのバスを待つ。
I love spotting public art. You never know what kind of story you may come across.
個人的にパブリックアートが大好き。どういう話があるのも調べるのが楽しい。
The above picture is another sculpture by Hokkaido native, Noriko Onodera. The poem is by Osamu Harako.
上の写真は北海道出身の彫刻家の小野寺紀子作品。詩は原田修の「若き星たち」。
The title of this piece is [Bokutachi no Tabi] which translates to [Our Journey]. The artist's name is Yoshiro Mineta.
これは峯田義朗作の「ぼくたちの旅」。
This was cute. The title of this piece is [Jitto Te o Miteru] which roughly translates to "Fixedly Look at my Hands". The artist of this piece is Takeboku Ishikawa.
可愛い彫刻だ。タイトルは「ぢっと手を見てる」。作者は石川啄木。
A rock? A stone? What is it?
石？ 岩？ なんだろう？
"Strange Rock" that brings happiness. It says this rock flows along the Milky Way and similar to seeing a falling star, if you touch the rock and pray, good fortune will come your way.
I love the trams in Hakodate.
箱館で見かける市電が好き。
The Meijikan which was closed when we walked past it yesterday. It is the old site of Hakodate's post office.
明治館。昨日は閉店後に通ったため、今日はちょっと覗いてみた。この建物は旧箱館郵便局でした。

Inside the Meijikan there is a Teddy Bear museum which is really cool. Unfortunately, no photographs are allowed in the museum.

This looked cool and interesting but I decided against buying it.
面白い作りと思いましたが、結構インスタ映えするデザートでしょうが食べるのを辞めた。

My wife chose purple sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and mango.
妻が選んだのは紫芋、カボチャとマンゴ。
I had the cream cheese, apple pie, and the fondant chocolate.
自分が選んだのはミルキッシモレアチーズ、アップルパイとフォンダンショコラ。
We love snacking, so we also went and bought some rice crackers.
間食するも好きなのでおせんべいの店へ。
We didn't order the regular type rice cracker but instead opted for the soft type. It's also served hot but it's so delicious.
普通の硬いおせんべいではなく、ぬれおかきを食べました。ホットで美味しい。
The soft rice crackers on a stick are also very popular.
串ぬれおかきも人気です。

海苔に北海道が印刷されてる。
Corn tea. How did it taste? Like tea made from corn. I didn't think it was too bad but my wife thought it was awful.
北海道とうきび茶。味？トウモロコシの味？僕はそんなに悪くないと思ったが妻が超不味いと言ってた。
We went to the Hasegawa Shop and feasted on their yakitori however they use pork! Tori is Japanese for chicken!!
ハセガワストアの焼鳥も食べたました。焼鳥なのに鶏肉ではない。豚肉です。それじゃ、焼豚じゃん！
Passing by one of the many Lucky Pierrot burger shops in Hakodate again.
また箱館のローカルバーガー店のラッキー・ピエロの前を通る。
My sister-in-law wanted to try the Lucky Pierrot Garana drink. It tastes like your typical energy drink. She found it to be too sweet for her. I drank most of it.
義理の妹がラッキー・ピエロが作ってるラッキーガラナな気になって飲んでみた。彼女に取って甘すぎる。僕がほぼ飲みました。味は普通の栄養ドリンクとそんなに変わらない。
But the design of the can is really cute.
缶のデザインはとっても可愛い。
Look! More public art. This piece is titled [Natsu no Kioku] which translates to "Summer Memory". The artist's name is Makoto Ogawa.
見て！またパブリックアート。作者は小川誠。タイトルは「夏の記憶」。
A shop that sells replicas of Japanese swords.
本物の日本刀ではないよ。刀のレプリカを販売してる店。

You can send your Christmas cards early. If you send them now, they will be delivered between the 20th and 24th of December.
クリスマスカード専用ポストが設置されてる。今からクリスマスカードが送れますって。お届けは今年の１２月２０日～２４日頃です。

箱館から段々離れて行く。
Because we had such a large breakfast, we didn't go anywhere for lunch. We decided to buy the popular yakitori bento from the Hasegawa Store. Yep, there product has chicken in the name but the meat is pork! Even has a picture of a pig on the cover.
ホテルの朝食を食べ過ぎて、昼食は食べてなかったのでハセガワストアの元祖やきとり弁当を買った。やきとりなのに箱にも豚の絵が。はい、肉は豚肉です！
But it was so good!
とっても美味しいです！
Walking around the ferry again. Here is the food vending machine area with a row of microwaves.

The small shop was still open so I decided to buy myself one more souvenir.
小さなな店がまだ営業中だったので、自分用にもう一つのお土産を購入。

One last cool thing to check out on our way back to Aomori City is the squid fishing boats. And so concluded our Hakodate adventure.
最後に楽しめることはイカ漁船の船の光。それでうちの箱館冒険の幕が閉じた。
