Fujisaki Town Fireworks / 藤崎町の花火

Five years ago, after I had started teaching at English at a factory near Hirosaki, one of the students invited me to his house for a barbecue and to watch the fireworks. He also said to bring my wife and friends if I wanted to so my sister-in-law came with us. 

５年前、英会話の講師の仕事を始め、週２回は弘前近くの工場で英語を教えに行った。夏になり、一人の生徒が僕を誘い、藤崎町の家から藤崎の花火を観覧することでした。花火を見ながらバーベキューもすると言った。なにも持ってこなくて良いと言われ、妻と義理の妹３人で行きました。

This entire neighborhood seemed to having a barbecue. My student said it was an annual thing. 

この近所の皆様が家の前でバーベキューをやってた。生徒がこれがこ毎年行われる儀式みたいなもんだって。

Although my student said I didn't need to bring anything, I think it would have been best if I brought a few things to grill as well. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes. 

生徒がなにもいらないと言われたが、やはりうちもなんか焼く物も持って行くべきと想った。ま、次回そういう誘いがあれば、ちゃんとするしかない。
